It seems there’s bad news for the Baltimore Ravens! The Purple Pain is coming off 2 back-to-back wins and will be looking to win their third straight game when they take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. After starting the season with many doubting his ability and questioning his $260 million price tag, the quarterback has now silenced his doubters.
Ian Rapoport, a senior NFL Insider, shared news regarding Lamar Jackson after he skipped practice on Thursday. What could be the reason for this, and should Ravens’ fans be worried?

Rapoport revealed that Jackson skipped practice due to sickness. But it’s far from unusual for Jackson who has made a habit of missing several late-season practice sessions due to illness. However, he also said, “It’s not gonna affect his availability for the big-time game against the Rams.” Another reassuring fact is that he did not show up on the injury report before Thursday.

On the off chance that Jackson does miss the game, backup QB Tyler Huntley will fill in for him. It is concerning, as this would be the seventh time since 2021, that he would be missing a game. In the last two seasons, he had just played 12 games in each season due to leg injuries. Huntley, however, will be a far shot from the player he would be replacing. Jackson has recorded 2,618 passing yards, and 13 touchdowns and has thrown 5 interceptions as the Ravens enter Week 14.
So, can the Ravens hope to win on Sunday?

After winning three consecutive games, the Rams are back in the playoff conversation with a bang. However, the 9-3 Ravens will give them a tough battle. In the last game against the Cleveland Browns, the Rams were able to take advantage of the Browns team that was peppered with injuries. However, the Ravens look like a healthy lot going into Week 14, for the most part.
The Ravens are also coming off a bye week, well-rested and all freshened up. They are in contention for the number 1 spot in the AFC. But the war is only going to get tougher for the Ravens with more formidable opponents in the coming weeks. That is why it is necessary for them to win against the Rams. If Jackson does play in the game, and key offensive weapons such as Gus Edwards and Zay Flowers bring their A-game on Sunday, a Ravens victory is highly likely.
