When it rains, it pours. New York’s golden QB, Aaron Rodgers, has always been an undisputed leader on-field. But off the gridiron? That’s a whole different ball game. While the four-time MVP is prepping for another season, his personal life is still a hot mess.
A-Rod’s family drama has long been the unspoken elephant in the room, but a new report points to the smoking gun: ex-love interest Olivia Munn. Per a new biography The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers by Ion O’Conner, the rift between the Jets’ QB, his parents, Ed and Darla, and brothers, Luke and Jordan, was ignited when he started dating the actress. Before Munn, Rodgers was engaged to Shailene Woodley.
Rodgers’ mother Darla didn’t like the comments Munn made publicly in a show named Watch What Happens Live in 2014. The actress answered questions related to her sex life and because of her religious beliefs, Darla was not comfortable with it. The relationship further soured when Munn allegedly told the QB’s parents that she didn’t want them attending the games, catching them in utter shock.

The biography reveals “Ed (Rodgers’ dad) and Darla explained [to Munn] that they had been attending Aaron’s games since he was a kid and did not need her permission to do so.” While his parents were expecting Rodgers to say sorry for Munn’s behavior, what came instead was an email from the Jets’ star with a stern ultimatum, “Don’t attack the woman I love.”
According to the biography, Rodgers was of the view that he was ‘taken for granted’ by his family, a sentiment which was further fueled by Munn. While Rodgers’ parents had no doubts that the division in the family was caused by Munn, the QB himself refuted that claim. “There’s nothing they (my parents) can say other than make up stories but look at the facts,” Aaron has been quoted as saying in the biography.
Munn, after her breakup with Rodgers, had thrown shade at the QB’s family publicly during a Sirius XM interview in 2018. “I don’t think either side of the road is clean,” she said, adding, “It’s not OK when you try to stand on someone’s shoulders and then throw dirt in their face.”

The Jets’ star kept mum about the situation back then as well, but his brother Jordan didn’t hold back. “I have no idea why she’s still talking about an ex,” Jordan snapped. The family drama kicked up a notch when A-Rod skipped Jordan’s wedding.
Rodgers’ no-show at brother’s wedding highlights lingering family feud
Aaron Rodgers skipped his brother Jordan’s wedding at the Santa Ynez nuptials in 2022, which went on to show the family rift was still wide open. An insider spilled the beans: “There is still a family rift… [They haven’t] reconciled or repaired their relationship.” The tension has been brewing since Jordan’s stint on The Bachelorette in 2016, where he first mentioned Rodgers’ distance.
