During the NFL Honors event in Las Vegas, the spotlight shone brightly on Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. He was awarded the 2023 NFL MVP for the second time in his career. He also dominated the votes with a near-unanimous decision. However, Jackson’s remarkable season overshadowed other finalists, including Dak Prescott, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, and Josh Allen.

Prescott notably secured second place despite not receiving any first-place votes. One more evening highlight was Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, who triumphed as the Associated Press NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Naturally, he surpassed the Buffalo Bills‘ Damar Hamlin. Despite Hamlin’s courageous return from a life-threatening cardiac arrest episode and leading in first-place votes, he didn’t win.

Flacco’s performances were notable, amassing 1,616 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 123 completions. Not just that, he also had a stunning run of over 300 yards in each game from weeks 15 to 18. Despite his stellar contribution of 34 completions for 307 yards in the Wild Card Round, the Browns were unable to secure a win.
