The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce highlighted his on-field tussle during the Chiefs vs Raiders game. After the Chiefs’ victory against the Raiders, the Chiefs became one of the top playoff contenders in the AFC division. With eight victories and three defeats, the Chiefs are again on the road to another Super Bowl victory, and this time as defending champions.

However, the recent clash draws the mind back to one of the major highlights of the 2022 NFL season. It was the Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and Patrick Mahomes’ headbutt moment. Both of them had shared a few heated words and since then the Raiders and the Chiefs’ matchup has become a highly anticipated one. Now again, the teams faced an on-field tussle. Though the players involved changed, the intensity reflected remained the same, if not turned higher.

Travis Kelce got candid about his gridiron tiff during the Raiders’ game. In his “New Heights” podcast, when asked by brother Jason Kelce about when he pulled a Raiders player off another one, Travis had a straightforward reply as to why the matter turned in that direction and got a little heated up.

Travis answered, “I think when you tackle a guy you shouldn’t try and rip the ball out when the guy’s on the ground, the play’s over, why are we doing that.” The younger Kelce brother emphasized the importance of fair play and protective measures for the players.

Hearing Travis’ views, Jason exclaimed, “Dude! I love it.” He further backed his brother and also highlighted the important role played by officials in the situations. However, the NFL games are all about aggression and a little bit of on-field tussles. Players are charged up, and such on-field heated scenes are sometimes inevitable. The Chiefs and the Raiders game surely was all about it!

The Chiefs vs the Raiders clash

The Kansas City Chiefs won the game by the scoreline of 31-17. The Raiders’ defensive end Maxx Crosby entered the gridiron despite his knee injury, and after being absent from the practice sessions. However, his presence didn’t bother the Chiefs’ offense as it was anticipated. The high anticipation surrounding the Mahomes-Crosby matchup was not seen, as Crosby got 1 tackle and 1 sack to his name.

In the fourth quarter of the game, Mahomes’ 39-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rashee Rice almost safeguarded a victory for the Chiefs. And then an extra point and a field goal resulted in the Chiefs marching to 31 and ending on the victorious side. However, the two teams are all set to face each other once more around Christmas time, making the anticipation for the clash higher than ever.
