Zyon McCollum has a standout career as a cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! To celebrate this, he has the constant support of his wife, Acacia McCollum. Drafted by the Buccaneers in 2022, McCollum has made an incredible journey as a fifth-round pick from Sam Houston State. In the recent matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, McCollum gave an electrifying performance. He was compared to legendary players like Mike Alstott.

McCollum was able to drag multiple Ravens defenders for almost 30 yards, while they attempted to bring him down. From earning multiple All-Conference honors during his college years to giving impressive performances in the NFL, he has covered it all. And, no other person is as proud of him as his wife, Acacia.

Who is Acacia McCollum?

Acacia McCollum, formerly Acacia Shepardson, shares a longtime loving bond with Zyon. As a standout defender for the Sam Houston State Bearkats soccer team, she actively participated in athletics during her college days after graduating from Sam Houston.

As she played from 2016 to 2019 in altogether 24 games, her stats were quite impressive. While Zyon and Acacia have not shared many details about their relationship, it is possible that they crossed paths at Sam Houston itself, igniting their love story.

Previous to her college career, she was also a three-year varsity player at Round Rock High School. Besides her strong combative capabilities on the field, she also excelled academically with all-district honors.

Completing her graduation, she has also joined the Willis Girl Soccer team as Assistant Coach in 2021. However, she gave up coaching in 2022, as she shared a heartfelt note, adding, “A bittersweet ending to an amazing chapter. The kiddos and girls I had the pleasure of teaching and coaching taught me more than I ever thought possible! I’ll miss their endless hugs and smiles.”

When she paid a visit to Willis on March 26, 2023, Acacia shared her deep bond with the place, adding, “A piece of my heart will always be in Willis 🤍💜 so AMAZING to visit.” And, now, Acacia is devoted to Zyon’s NFL journey, supporting him with all love and faith.

The loving relationship of Zyon and Acacia

The couple exchanged their rings back in July 2022. Zyon had proposed to Acacia at the Florida state line, as it holds special significance for them. He shared the news of his engagement via an IG post. Zyon wrote, “A lot of things in my life are uncertain, but there’s one thing I know for sure: I will love you forever🖤 #engaged.”

And completing a major milestone, they tied their knots this year on March 23, 2024, in Dripping Springs, TX. On the eve of their marriage, they hosted a cozy get-together at The Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX.

The couple share a very special bond. Together, they adopted a Great Dane named Aether. Talking about it, they add, “We wanted to give him (a name) that fits his coat… he looks like the sky on a cloudy day, and his coat is like, black and gray and cloudy.”

On October 31, 2023, Zyon McCollum shared images of his wife, adding, “Help me wish the happiest birthday that can be wished to my love!” And further penned his emotions as,  “If today is half as incredible as you are we’re all in for a treat 🍫🍬 thank you for being your loving caring self, still counting the days to when we tie the knot, I love you🖤🎃.”

While Acacia has locked her Instagram profile, she has mentioned 1 Corinthians 16:14 in her bio. It says, “Let all that you do be done in love.” And, indeed, the love that Acacia and Zyon share has won our hearts.
