The 2017 NFL forced fumble leader is one of the best edge rushers in the league and some teams need him more than they realize. But since he has a lot of free time these days, he might just not miss the opportunity to spend some time with his girlfriend.

There’s nothing ordinary about his girlfriend. Journalism, medical studies, charity, you name it, she’s done it. So who really is Maria Perez and what’s her relationship with Yannick Ngakoue like? Let’s dive into that.

It’s been easily more than two years since Yannick and Maria have known each other. It’s not clear where the couple met but what’s clear is that Maria has a lot to show for as far as her professional career is concerned. A bilingual TV anchor, 2x Emmy winner, a reporter, and a news host, she’s a package of entertainment and that’s an understatement.

But Journalism might not have been the first stepping stone of her career because she initially went to South Texas College to become a nursing assistant and got her associate’s degree with flying colors. But that still didn’t satisfy her because her calling might have been journalism in the first place. She didn’t waste much time after graduating from South Texas College and joined another University after becoming a certified nursing assistant and a phlebotomist.

It was time for her to kickstart her journalism and broadcasting career with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she learned the tricks of the trade. She spent 2012-2016 honing her internal journalist before he headed out to the world to live her dreams as a TV anchor. It took some time, but she finally landed a job at Telemundo McAllen as a weather forecaster, after working there for 6 years, she felt like it was time to move on.

But it seems like she was juggling a career with NBC Universal between 2021-2024 and her ongoing job with Telemundo McAllen at the same time until she decided to let go of those designations. So what is she doing now? Her Instagram gives us a vague idea of what’s up with her personal life.

To start things off, the bilingual host has a following of 67.5k people on her Instagram account @mariapereztv where she frequently posts about her personal life. Going through her account, we are sure that she’s a Ferrari fangirl. When she turned 30, she posted a picture of herself in a red dress posing alongside a Ferrari with her NFL boyfriend. The post was captioned, “This is 30 🎂🥳❤️ The best is yet to come! 🙏🏻.”

Her Instagram is filled with pictures of her with her boyfriend, some really awesome cars, jets, and of course the mandatory workout and vacation posts. Being a news anchor might be a time-consuming job but she still finds a way to make time for her boyfriend and attend his games. When Yannick was playing for the Indianapolis Colts, she used to be somewhat a regular in those games.

There’s a picture of her attending the Colts training camp about two years ago. The IG post titled, “First week of training camp is done. More than a year ago, 15 months to be precise, the couple celebrated their first anniversary together and Maria posted the coveted moment on her IG with captions, “365 dias a tu sado ❤️ 🙏🏻,” and everything seems to be going alright between the couple. Should Ngakoue retire this year, he has his love life laid out ahead of him.
