Vita Vea, the defensive tackle of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is known for his football skills. He played college football at the University of Wahington and was recognized as a unanimous All-American and the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. The same year, Vea was drafted by the Buccaneers and was named in the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.
But you must not forget that behind every successful athlete, there’s an equally driven woman. And for Buccaneers’ defensive tackle Vita Vea, it’s his wife, Alexus Atchley. The woman he met in his college years and her drive for sports brought the couple together. And if you have not heard about her, Atchley’s basketball journey will inspire you.
Who is Alexus Atchley?

Alexus Vea was born and raised in the United States and has been a student-athelete. Lexi first chose the University of Colorado, where she majored in communications. But destiny had other plans for her. She left Colorado because, even though she was part of the basketball team roster there, she didn’t have any playtime as a walk-on.

Then decided to go to the University of Washington for graduation, where she met her life partner Vita Vea. She played for 3 seasons before graduating in 2017, out of their 3 seasons Atchley was team captain in her junior and senior years. And led her team to back-to-back championships and became a member of the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team in 2016.
Because of her skills, Lexi also got her scholarship at UW. And she expressed her happiness. “It was hard,” Atchley stated. “I was treated way different than the other players. I was held to kind of a higher standard. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it was really hard on me.” And mentioned how she has to hold herself to a high standard because of being the captain and team starter of the Huskies.
How long have Vita Vea and Alexus been together?

Ashley’s team has not only given her a career but also the man she wishes to spend her life with. When she was captain of UW she met Vita Vea who was a part of the Huskies’ College Football Playoff team in 2016. The couple started dating right after that and got engaged in late 2020.
Vea played Super Bowl LV against the Kansas City Chiefs, and got Bucs a Super Bowl ring with a 31-9 victory. Soon after that, he bought a ring for his lady and they exchanged vows in 2012. In 2023 their life changed once again when they heard about the arrival of their new family member, then welcomed her on May 13, 2024. And have been supporting each other in every step of their life. Lexi even decided to be a stay at home mom to support her husband.
