The story of soccer star Macie Bozeman and the Chiefs‘ LB Swayze Bozeman is like a movie to watch again and again. Macie isn’t just the NFL linebacker’s wife; she’s wowed everyone with her love for soccer and academic smarts. Now that Macie and Swayze have become a couple, their love story and achievements have become an example of a perfect power couple.

Macie Bozeman, originally Macie Pennington, daughter of Patrick and Mandy Pennington, was born on March 15, 1999, in Townsend, Delaware. She has had a passion for soccer since childhood and won four state titles while studying at Caravel Academy. In her senior year, she missed being named Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year and finished runner-up. Also, Pennington earned First Team All-State selection in both her senior and junior years.

After high school, she attended Caldwell University in 2017 and impressed everyone with her performances in her freshman and sophomore seasons. In her freshman year, she played 18 games and finished second on the team in points (12) and goals (5).

In her sophomore year, she was part of the 2018 CACC Championship team and was selected to the CoSIDA Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-District First Team. In that season, she appeared in 20 games and scored one goal and ten significant assists. Her shooting accuracy was 50%, and her shots-on-goal percentage was also 50%.

In 2019, Macie joined Southern Miss University. In her junior year, she played 18 games and made only two starts. Her first appearance and start for Southern Miss occurred on August 22 during the season opener at Missouri. She recorded a single-game career-high 66 minutes on September 8 against Mississippi Valley State. She earned some notable honors that year, like the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll in 2019-20. 

In her senior year, she played 10 games and started all as a captain for the Golden Eagles. She played amazingly, which earned her a spot on the C-USA All-Conference Third Team and All-Academic Second Team. She became one of the Southern Miss Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

On her way, she met the linebacker Swayze Bozeman in 2021. With time, their relationship grew stronger and soon they tied the knot in 2023. Well, the bond between them can be gauged from just one video, their wedding video, which is amazingly beautiful.

The couple started dating on November 28, 2021. And after almost 2 years, on May 13, 2023, they tied the knot at ‘The Raymond Venue’ in Central Mississippi. The venue witnessed some heartfelt moments, highlighting their love and respect for each other. After 10 days of celebrating their first anniversary, on May 23, 2024, Macie shared a video clip of their wedding ceremony via her Instagram account.

“I’m pretty sure everyone here knows that I’ve been waiting for this day since I met you. I remember texting my mom after the first time we hung out that I was going to marry you, and she told me I was being dramatic,” she said, looking deep into his eyes and holding hands in hands. She emphasized that she admired everything about him, his resilience, patience, chivalry, selflessness, and unwavering faith.

They were so excited to live that moment, the moment which was like a ballad, the moment that they’ll never be able to forget till their last breath. Every second seemed to sing the harmony of their shared love and respect. “It still doesn’t seem real that I’m standing up here right now. I never imagined spending the rest of my life with someone as incredible as you,” Swayze said. “I believe there were two reasons God brought you: for him first and for me.“
