Kenny Albert has indeed established himself as a top American sportscaster. With three decades covering all the major sports leagues, i.e., NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB, his distinct identity in sports broadcasting cannot be surpassed. Starting early with calling games and later graduating from New York University in 1990, he has called well over 1300 games to date.
Not only this, in 2023, he went on to publish his book, ‘A MIC for All Seasons’, documenting his experience. And, in it, his wife, Barbara Wolf Albert, also finds a special mention. His constant supporter and better half, Barbara has indeed navigated all the ups and downs beside him.
Who is Barbara Wolf Albert?

Barbara Wolf Albert, Kenny Albert’s wife, was born on June 6, 1969. And, the spirit of entrepreneurship runs in her family. Her father, Herbert Wolf, worked as a mechanical engineer and owned EBR Manufacturing. Professionally, he was a vinyl maker in Closter, NJ.
On the other hand, Barbara’s mom, Maxine Wolf, was also in the business domain, as she owned a Moto Photo processing store in Fort Lee, NJ. But later, she switched to bookkeeping and tax services. Barbara grew up in New Jersey alongside her two siblings, Richard Wolf and Ellen Wolf Porwich. However, she faced a tragic loss with her sister Ellen’s death in May 2021.
Talking about her academic years, Barbara completed her graduation from Ithaca College in New York. Post this, she worked with The Robert Group, a lighting design and manufacturing company that is situated in Wood Ridge, NJ. She was in the role of account services coordinator, later taking up the role of marketing director. However, after starting her relationship with Kenny, Barbara chose to devote her time fully to her family.
The loving relationship between Kenny and Barbara
Kenny and Barbara share a thrilling back-story that marked the start of their relationship. In 1994, Kenny Albert had just called a disappointing NHL Finals game where the New York Rangers faced a tough loss. Instead of lingering at Madison Square Garden, he decided to accompany his friend Jerry Coleman to Barbara’s apartment.

Talking about it Albert reflected, “If the Rangers had won that game, I probably would have stuck around MSG and got to some Stanley Cup party, but they lost that game, and I wound up meeting my friend Jerry at my now-wife’s apartment.”
Their first official date was during the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets. Since he was carrying around an extra ticket to Game Five, he invited Barbara over for the same. Despite Kenny’s busy schedule, the couple dated for two years before they eventually tied the knot on August 10, 1996, at the Livingston Country Club in Livingston, New Jersey. And, Cantor Jacob Yaron officiated the ceremony.

Kenny and Barbara’s family grew with the arrival of their two daughters: Amanda, born on October 4, 1999, and Sydney, born on January 27, 2003. And, even though his job is demanding with tight schedules, the Alberts frequently enjoy weekly game nights, ice hockey, or public events.
Having been together for almost 30 years now, Kenny is deeply appreciative of his wife. Back in August 2023, Kenny also shared a post, celebrating his 27th anniversary with his wife, as he penned the caption, “Happy 27th Anniversary to the best wife (and mother) anyone could ever ask for. Look forward to the next 27 and many more @barbalbert6 ♥️♥️♥️.” He added, “My wife has always been my rock.” Because of their names, he also remarks how they are playfully referred to as “Barbie and Ken.” Indeed, their loving relationship has won the hearts of their fans.
