Life’s funny like that, right? It’s full of twists and turns, and Joshua Karty’s journey has been no different. Drafted by the Rams in the 6th round, this guy’s career is kicking off in a big way (pun intended). But there’s more to the story than just football—his love story adds a sprinkle of cuteness. Want to hear it? Let’s dive in.
Joshua met Bella Ganocy at Stanford, and get this—their love story isn’t the only thing Stanford had a hand in. His parents? Yup, they met there too! In fact, Karty’s mom broke the news of her pregnancy with him at Stanford Stadium. Talk about a full-circle moment! Coincidence? Maybe. But it feels like Stanford’s been a lucky charm for the Karty family.
Now that Joshua’s gone pro, it’s not just his parents rocking his Rams jersey—Bella is too. And you know what? He’s living the dream. Karty mentioned he wanted to stay on the West Coast, and Los Angeles fit the bill perfectly. His mom even told The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue at the Senior Bowl that she hoped the Rams would pick him. Well, talk about manifesting that one!

To sweeten the deal, Karty trained with the same kicking specialist who worked with former Rams kicker Matt Gay. Seems like all the pieces fell into place, don’t you think? For Joshua, yes! But for him, as he settles into his pro career, his focus would also turn to lean toward Bella, who’s smashing it in her own rights.

Who is Joshua Karty’s girlfriend, Bella Ganocy?
That’s a good question. Not because she, now, comes under the category of WAG but because Bella is an athlete herself. You might not know her name yet, but she’s still at Stanford, making waves in the field hockey scene.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Stanford the secret sauce for success in both love and sports for the Karty family?
Have an interesting take?
See, the thing is, Joshua wrapped up his time at Stanford in 2023, right before the Rams came knocking for his kicking talents. Bella, on the other hand, joined Stanford in 2022, and she’s still got a couple more years left to finish her degree in Management Science and Engineering while balancing her career as a student-athlete. Talk about juggling two big gigs, right? Umm, add a third to it—being a WAG.

Bella’s no rookie when it comes to being a top performer. As a sophomore in 2023, she appeared in 15 games, starting two of them. And let’s not forget her freshman year, where she made 19 appearances and even scored her first goal! Before Stanford, she was already a big deal—named a Max Field Hockey Second Team All-American and scoring 67 goals in high school. Seems like she’s been stacking up wins long before her Stanford days. Then what about having her twin sister, Ella, also on the Stanford field hockey team? It’s something that many dream of—to play with their siblings one day. Guess the Ganocy family’s athletic genes did the wonders.
And if that wasn’t enough, Bella and Joshua’s relationship only means coming together of two athletic families. What the future holds for them two would be really interesting to see.
