Is Josh McDaniels' success in the NFL partly due to the unwavering support of his wife, Laura?

Maintaining optimism in the high-stakes surroundings of the NFL is difficult! However, it is possible with significant collaboration from a life partner. This is particularly relevant to Josh McDaniels, a former NFL head coach who has moved forward in his life thanks to the support of his wife, Laura McDaniels.

Ex-NFL HC experienced many ups and downs in his career. Even last season, he faced controversy, the Las Vegas Raiders fired him less than two years into his six-year contract with the team. However, something has kept him positive during adverse times. It is the solid backing of his beloved wife, Laura McDaniels. Since the NFL couple exchanged vows in 2002, she has been his continuous source of support.

However, the couple prefers to keep their personal lives away from the limelight, as evidenced by their locked Instagram accounts. However, some reports provide insights into Laura’s personal and professional life beyond highlighting her key role in her NFL husband’s life.

Laura McDaniels is known for her charity work as a philanthropist. Born in 1977, she primarily helps breast cancer survivors. Her generous side was displayed in 2015 when she participated in a relaxing day camp for breast cancer survivors organized by the New England Patriots’ charitable organization. Laura offered the survivors manicures and massages. Moreover,  she advised them on various life subjects. Inspired by the patients’ stories, she remarked, “I’m inspired. I’m motivated to do more. Each of their stories is very unique and heartwarming.”

According to reports, Laura McDaniels currently works at Cooley Medical Equipment, though this has not been verified. Her father is Ronald Johncock, and her mother is Marie Johncock.

The NFL power couple has never publicly spoken about their relationship. According to media reports, they first crossed paths while working at FiberTech, a plastics company in Cleveland, Ohio. After two years of dating, they decided to marry in 2002 in Cuyahoga, Ohio.

The couple shares four children: Jack, Maddie, Livi, and Neenah. During a 2016 interview, Laura revealed that Josh has always allotted time for his family despite work pressure. “This line of work can swallow you up. But when he’s with the kids, he can stop what he’s doing and talk about the school dance. That wasn’t easy for him. He’s worked on it and still is working on it. I think he has changed,” Laura remarked.

Josh also disclosed, “I’ve learned if I don’t take time to enjoy the things that are important to me, I’ll look back 20 years from now and say, ‘What did I do this for?’ If that means leaving work early so I can see the kids and coming back earlier the next morning when they are sleeping anyway, that’s what I’ll do.”

Thus, since the start, Laura has entirely supported her husband’s football coaching career.
