Sports runs in the Harbaugh family’s blood. Words cannot describe John Harbaugh’s contribution to the Baltimore Ravens. The infamous Harbaugh Bowl, when he went against his younger brother, Jim Harbaugh, is enough to tell that story. But this isn’t about the Harbaugh Brothers, rather, it’s about their children. John Harbaugh’s daughter, Alison, to be exact.
Alison was born to John and Ingrid Harbaugh and moved to Baltimore with her family in 2008. Growing up, she went to The Bryn Mawr School and then proceeded to pursue higher studies on Notre Dame. But one thing that stayed with her during her transition from high school to college was sports. In fact, John Harbaugh used to train her in a sport other than football.

Well, Lacrosse has been her go to ever since she was a kid. In fact, she was so good in high school that she captained the Bryn Mawr to a conference title back in 2020. She even won the IAAM Character Coin Award. However, she’s as prolific off the field as she is on the field. That’s because she also earned a scholar-athlete and leadership award as a senior.
But that’s not it, she’s also known to play basketball and tennis too. Some of that credit might go to his father as well. Apparently, she’s had the flair for lacrosse since she was in the second grade. Initially, John was naïve when it came to lacrosse. He used to call “her stick a lacrosse ‘racket’ for five years.” But everything changed when she was done with high school and her collegiate career began and it blossomed.
What accolades does Alison Harbaugh has in college?
Time went on and she found herself in Notre Dame in 2020 at the age of 18, playing for the lacrosse team and eventually tried becoming a division 1 athlete. She played 6 games as a sophomore where she tallied a goal and two assists and in her junior season in 2022, she appeared in 8 games and tallied an assist against Central Michigan. She got to college during the time of the pandemic so schools organizing matches wasn’t a priority in her freshman year.
Coincidentally, John Harbaugh was also home due to a 12-week state ordered shutdown and thus their practice at home began. The Ravens HC would play a defender against his daughter and hone her skills. In a sense, Harbaugh felt happy that things were going this way and he was getting to spend time with his daughter.

“If I was at work, I would never have been a part of that,” Harbaugh said. “It’s been a blessing.” Harbaugh would design drills to improve his daughter’s footwork and even went to watch her practice. Alison knew that her father was the happiest man in the world when he watched her play lacrosse.
“I just remember looking over at him and he was just smiling,” Alison said. “I could just tell he was the happiest person ever in that moment.”
