The Buffalo Bills burst into the season like the cool cats everyone wanted to party with, flashing that potential Super Bowl swagger. Fast forward to this week, and the Bills seem to have hit a speed bump or two on the road to glory. At 5-5, they’re riding a rollercoaster of wins and losses, with their latest defeat served up by the Denver Broncos. It’s their second loss in a row, following a dance with the Cincinnati Bengals.

But it’s not just a taste of defeat they’re sipping on–the Bills got hit with a penalty for throwing a 12-men party on the field during a field goal attempt. Offense? It was like a broken jukebox playing all the wrong tunes. But the Bills’ top brass wasn’t having any of it. They pulled the trigger, handing the interim OC reins to Joe Brady, ready to call the shots and shake things up.

Joe Brady’s coaching odyssey–A playbook as diverse as his success

For starters, Joe Brady is NOT related to Tom Brady. The last name is clearly a mere coincidence or a premonition of greatness. Joe Brady hustled his way up the NFL coaching ladder, making stops with the New Orleans Saints and rocking it at LSU under Ed Orgeron. Then came the blockbuster move in 2020–the Carolina Panthers snatched him up as their offensive maestro under Matt Rhule, thanks to some epic success with the Tigers.

Fast forward to December 2021, and Rhule gave him the pink slip after a lukewarm 5-7 season. But guess who swooped in to snag him? Our very own Buffalo Bills, bringing him on as QB coach. Now, with the OC crown on his head, will Joe Brady bring the heat every time the Bills hit the gridiron? The crystal ball’s a bit foggy on that one. All we know for now is we’re hanging on to that Brady last name for some gridiron magic.
