Hey, imagine a special teamer giving a special marriage proposal to his girlfriend right after clinching a playoff spot—how romantic does that sound, huh? It would be an exceptional moment, wouldn’t it? Well, guess what? This actually happened! Washington Commanders star safety Jeremy Reaves got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend (now fiancée) Mikaela Worley after a thrilling win over the Atlanta Falcons.
During the Commanders’ matchup against the Falcons, the 6-foot safety recorded two crucial tackles—one solo and one assisted. Jayden Daniels, reacting to the Commanders’ win, said that he was tired right now but excited and happy for their victory. Even NBA legend Magic Johnson couldn’t contain his excitement and shared, “It’s official, my Washington Commanders are in the Playoffs.” The entire Northwest stadium erupted in celebration, but no one was more surprised than Jeremy Reaves’ fiancée, Mikaela, who received the best gift of her life that day.
Who is Mikaela Worley?

Mikaela Worley is a physician assistant working in Virginia. And guess what brought these two lovebirds together? Sports! Mikaela played volleyball in her college days. Worley has attended the University of Louisiana Monroe, whereas Jeremy is an alumnus of the University of South Alabama. Mikaela shares a deep passion for sports with Jeremy. In fact, she’s been his biggest cheerleader, showing up for every game with a 39-number jersey.
While expressing his gratitude for Mikaela, Jeremy shared on December 30, “She’s earned it. I can’t say enough about her. When I was at my lowest last year, she was there to pick me up every day. She showed up. That’s my best friend—has been since high school.” Everyone wants to be with you when you’re successful, right? But Mikaela is a different kind of beast. When Reaves suffered a partially torn ACL and got hospitalized, she held his hand and went through those hardships. On that rocky path also, Mikaela stood by his side as his rock and best friend.

Jeremy Reaves’ fairy-tale proposal for Mikaela Worley
After the Washington Commanders’ 30-24 win over the Falcons, 28-year-old Jeremy Reaves walked onto the field to find Mikaela. She had absolutely no idea what was about to go down! She probably thought it was just gonna be the usual, you know, him coming over for a hug and some quick chats. But then, out of nowhere, Jeremy drops to one knee with a ring in his hand! Mikaela was literally caught off guard, and her emotions just hit her. She started tearing up and couldn’t stop smiling. Mikaela kept saying ‘yes’ over and over like she couldn’t believe this would happen on the gridiron and in front of thousands of people.

In a chill convo with the Associated Press, Reaves spilled the tea about the proposal. When a reporter asked him about that picture-perfect moment, he said, “I hate losing, so there’s no way I could’ve pulled that off after a loss. That ring was burning a hole in my pocket.” The Washington Commanders even posted the whole magical thing on their official X account with the caption, ‘Win. Clinch. Propose.’ Pretty epic, right?
