Jahlani Karl Tavai the linebacker for the New England Patriots played college football at the University of Hawaii and was drafted by Detroit in 2019. Off the field, Jahlani is romantically linked to a 29-year-old  popular professional volleyball player from the Philippines. Though there is not much information available regarding their dating story she is often seen on her Instagram, sharing pictures of her and Jahlani traveling together, wearing matching outfits, and creating wonderful memories. She frequently supports her boyfriend by wearing his #48 Patriots jersey at games.

The girl is none other than Kalei Manu. She was born in Hawaii to a Filipino Hawaiian mother and she proudly embraces her ethnic roots, enriching her identity both on and off the volleyball court. Kalei started her career at the University of Minnesota. Later, she transferred to another university, the University of Arizona. In UOA she played for her final three college seasons.

She earned a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Third-Team All-American team. Manu further competed for Indias de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico and for Volleyball Nantes in France. Unfortunately, a shoulder dislocation and subsequent surgery brought her back to the US for recovery. Upon her return to volleyball, she played for the Cocolife Asset Managers in the Philippine Superliga.

She has made the Philippines proud by representing in international volleyball. Kalei also became part of the national team’s training camps. She joined in Thailand and Japan and started preparing for the Southeast Asian Games. Despite obtaining a Philippine passport in early 2019, Kalei needed to complete a two-year residency before the tournaments. By June 2021, the FIVB allowed her to represent the Philippines.

After achieving so much in her career, she is about to start an exciting new chapter in her personal life with Tavai.

She is expecting her first child with Jahlani Tavai. On Instagram, the 29-year-old shared a special announcement video revealing the news. “Baby Tavai coming soon,” she wrote in her post. She expressed her joy by adding, “We’ve been blessed to start a family of our own. Something I’ve always prayed for. Mahalo Ke Akua,” “Mahalo Ke Akua” means “Thank you, God” in Hawaiian. In the comment section, many people have showered love, including her teammates. Everyone is excited for Kalei as she begins this new journey.
