Looking back at the crop of active NFL head coaches, John Harbaugh‘s name would undoubtedly be at the top. The current Baltimore Ravens head coach has recorded 160 regular-season victories, which ranks among the 20th most of all time. With a Super Bowl title to his name, and a coaching career dating back to 1984. Harbaugh’s love affair with football is as enduring as the one he has with his wife, Ingrid Harbaugh.
Both John and Ingrid completed their college education at Western Michigan University, where it all started. With the couple eventually coming together for the first time back in 1985, when Ingrid was working in a small office space for her college baseball team, and John was a graduate assistant for the football team. For most of her teenage years, Ingrid had a comparatively low profile. But as soon as she tied the knot with John Harbaugh in 1991, her popularity sky-rocketed.
To this day, Ingrid’s profession remains a mystery, while her husband boasts a steadfast football coaching career. The lovebirds’ marriage took a happier turn as they welcomed a daughter named Alison Harbaugh. Alison has the sporting qualities of her father, with an incredible hand in playing lacrosse. Pursuing her education at Notre Dame, she is also a part of her All-ACC Academic Team. Among all the sporting blood in Ingrid’s family, she continues to remain a housewife.

Ingrid excels in the role of a supporting wife, which is something Harbaugh could have ever dreamt of. Whenever he couldn’t return home to prepare his team, Ingrid remained in her home alone. Even on Sundays, when the regular season comes by, the couple can’t catch a breath together. Amid such ups and downs, how does Ingrid manage to keep her marriage strong while acting as John’s biggest supporter?

Meet Baltimore Raven’s HC John Harbaugh’s wife Ingrid Harbaugh
Ingrid Harbaugh is second to none when it comes to patience in a marriage. As the wife of a man who breathes and loves football, she shares some insight behind her story, “If you want to spend four hours with your husband on Sunday, you may want to watch a game with them and start to understand it.” Well, we can sense a tad bit of frustration in her words when describing her Sundays with John.
The only time Ingrid is able to enjoy her husband’s company is during Friday evenings. Adding to her story, Ingrid expressed, “The first word would be ‘stressful.’ It’s very stressful, for like six months of the season.” Well, Ingrid, we might feel you when it comes to stress while cheering our team during matches. But for her, it’s different as she continues to maintain their strong bond in a 26-year marriage.

To nurture their togetherness, Ingrid shares a pre-game ritual with his husband whenever the Ravens are due to play at home. “We always signal each other before a game…he blows me a kiss, and I blow him a kiss. This is funny, but if we miss it, we’ve lost,” Ingrid shared. John Harbaugh must be the luckiest man on earth for having a wife who subjected her life to their marriage. But for sure, John would like to get those kisses every time his Ravens are poised to play at home.
