“Had a couple special visitors in the office yesterday!” That is what Derrick Brown said when his wife, Tayla Brown, and their son, went to the player’s training camp in 2021. Starting his journey as the seventh overall pick for the Carolina Panthers, Derrick Brown made his name in the NFL world with 103 tackles in the last season. Well, the defensive tackle is not only hitting the jackpot on the field, but has been on cloud nine in his personal life as well!

Imagine dating only one woman and then starting a beautiful small world with her. This is the exact story of the Panthers’ rising star. Derrick Brown and Tayla Main started dating back in 2014. After being in a loving and romantic relationship for over four years, they welcomed their first son, Kai.

In September 2020, they grew their family with a baby girl, Kenzley Brown. Moreover, the couple was blessed with another baby girl, Kendall Jane Brown, in June this year. With such a lovely tribe, Derrick is absolutely having it all!

And you can see their love and admiration for each other through their social media posts. When the couple walked down the aisle on March 5th, 2022, the Browns could not resist shouting from the rooftops. Sharing their wedding pictures, Tayla wrote a long heartwarming caption that read, “My partner for life, my best friend, my high school sweetheart, the best daddy to our babies. I love you forever & ever.” And that’s not all!

Derrick and Tayla love wearing their heart on the sleeves. Whether it’s their anniversary, birthdays, Christmas, or any other special occasion, they never fail to show off their love on social media. So, how did their love story start? It all started when Brown and Main were studying in high school. And interestingly, the Defensive Tackle was a junior, while Tayla was his senior.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Tayla Main spent most of her time with her siblings, Nathan and Nikkita, while growing up. She completed her collegiate education at the University of North Georgia from 2015 to 2018. However, no information is available about Main’s career. But, Mrs. Brown was once a part of the sports world too!

Back in the days of their high school, Main was the football team’s student sports coach. And guess what? Just like a Hollywood movie, Derrick Brown, being a football player, was her student! Soon, they started spending most of their time together. From going to football practices and games to roaming around in the school, the couple was often seen together. And that’s how Mr. Brown met Kai’s mother!

After spending a few days together outside the gridiron and high school, the duo went on their first date. Spoiler alert: It was a not-so-pleasing first date. The Panthers player and Tayla ended up in a creepy corn maze, which was one of those silly teenage choices! But even after the train wreck, Derrick hung in there. In October 2014, the defensive tackle proposed to Main to be his girlfriend, and that too in a student parking lot. Again, not your typical romantic gesture!

However, Tayla said ‘yes’ and the duo started their journey together. And on July 19, 2020, Derrick got down on one knee and put a ring out to seal the deal. Tayla shared the news on her IG account with the caption, “The beginning of forever.” And the rest is history.

From being teenage lovers to becoming life partners, Derrick Brown and Tayla Main have seen it all. Being Brown’s biggest supporter, through thick and thin, his wife could be often seen attending matches cheering him up from the sidelines!
