Having signed with then-Washington Redskins in 1983, who would have thought that CB Darrell Green would spend his entire career playing in Washington. Seeing him play for almost two decades, Green defied expectations that got him the nickname “the Ageless Wonder.” Even another Commanders legend, QB Sonny Jurgensen, spoke about how Darrell surprised everyone with his capability of staying fit over the years.

“Seeing Darrell come into the NFL at his size and background and to last as long he did, he was extraordinary.” Well, those years playing for the Commanders did pay off, as they decided to retire his No.28 jersey this April. With an NFL career that ran for decades, Green was equally fortunate to have his loving wife, Jewell Green, by his side.

They have been married for 37 years, thereby showing us the bond both possess. Apart from him being a supportive wife to Darrell, she is also an influencer and business partner of her husband in multiple endeavors. Going through her Instagram, you can often find her posting pics with her children and grandchildren. From celebrating Happy Mother’s Day to posting her son Jared Green on “National Sons Day” Jewell embraces her role in the family, “@justbejared is definitely my mini me lol! So happy I get to be your mom forever.”

Well, besides her posts related to family and influencer activities on Instagram, she loves to help her husband handle the business. Since hanging up his cleats back in 2002, Green and his wife have run multiple businesses, like not-for-profit organizations, Thanks USA, Every Child Fed, The Orlando World Outreach Center and many more.

Although businesses have boasted huge success for the Greens as a family, they wouldn’t be happy without the loving children they often share on Instagram.

How many children do Darrell Green & Jewell Green have?

Both Darrell and Jewell share 4 adult children and 14 grandchildren in what they call the “Tribe.” Last year, in August 2023, we got a glimpse of that Tribe when Darrell posted the whole family under one picture with the caption, “My family. My wife, 4 kids, 4 kids in love, 15 grandchildren (3 little ones and my son-in-law missed the picture). I’m blessed beyond measure!”

Although there isn’t much information available about his children, all of them were present when the Commanders decided to retire his jersey before the start of this season. “This is the first ever time that this tribe has been able to come together and celebrate the leader. Some of these folks are one and two years old, so for us to capture that in video, audio, picture, it’s gonna be great for years to come. All of us being the same room and just feeling the energy, that was unbelievable. It was explosive.”

As Darrel and his wife Jewell continue to celebrate their tribe expanding. We hope they continue to remain happy while posting their sons and daughters over our timeline as they please. But taking nothing away from the couple, they sure are the epitome of a closely knitted family.
