Is Taye Raymond Holker the secret weapon behind Dallin Holker's success?

Dallin Holker’s NFL success is not his victory alone. It is the shared success between Dallin and his supportive wife, Taye Raymond Holker, who has always shown faith in him. Signing with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2024, has come across as a significant opportunity for him to show his potential after his collegiate career. And, during this time, he navigated collegiate athletics together with his wife, Taye.

First at Brigham Young University (BYU) and later at Colorado State University (CSU), Taye was involved deeply in sports alongside Dallin. At BYU, she was a sprinter and jumper, gathering impressive stats. She recorded a sprint time of 24 secs during a 200m sprint, and 20 feet, 1/4 inch long jump distance.

However, opportunities at BYU were limited, and both Taye and Dallin collectively arrived at the decision to enter the transfer portal together in 2022. Reflecting on the particular instant, Dallin fondly remembers the decision.

He remarked during an interview, “Pretty much me and my wife prayed about it… My wife ran track there, and she was looking for another opportunity as well. We felt like the best opportunity for both of us… It just worked out for both of us, and we’re glad that we did it.”

Sharing mutual goals, they shifted to CSU. And it indeed proved to be the right fit. While Dallin excelled on the football field, Taye made records in track and field. She went to boost her long jump distance by five inches to 20 feet, 5 ¼ inches, getting a solid start at CSU.

It was a life-changing choice for her. Talking about their recruitment, Dallin said, “We immediately got done talking to [Coach Mumme], and we told him the deal. As soon as we were done with our call, he called the track coach, and the track coach called Taye. It was a really big deal for us.”

Taye also led the CSU track team to victory during the Mountain West Indoor Championship. She secured the third position in the long jump, at the distance of 20-5.25, second-best in CSU history.

Taye also reflected on the decision, saying, “It just felt right here. We had done a lot of praying, and when we were here, we both were like this is where we need to be, this is where God wants us to be.”

Both personally and professionally, Taye and Dallin have continued to support each other.

Dallin and wife Taye’s romance

Taye and Dallin’s relationship dates back before the start of their college career. He had undertaken a mission trip to Chile and Yakima, Washington, and it was during this mission that he met Taye. Since then, Taye has always been by his side, as a fellow athlete, trusted advisor, and partner.

Often Taye and Dallin have playful debates regarding who was the better athlete or student, from BYU to CSU. Talking about her equation with Dallin, she once remarked, “That’s one of the biggest reasons why I love Dallin so much. I know he understands what I’m feeling… He usually has something really good to say about what’s going on just because he’s probably been through the exact same thing.

One of them was always on the sidelines, supporting their partner during their games. Taye recalls, they had a pregame tradition, wherein they gave each other the “I love you” sign. She remarked, “Yeah, whenever we see each other before we compete, we like to give you the ‘I love you’ sign… Then it’s game on from there.”

Taye is excited at the prospect, as she remarked, “It’s such a great experience that I’ll be excited to share with our kids and our grandkids. It’s been a lot of fun. It makes it a lot better, in my opinion. I’m glad to be able to have him by my side through all this.”

The couple tied the knot in 2022, and they continue to cherish and support each other in every respect.
