How much do you think a supportive partner like Devin McGovern impacts an NFL player's performance?

Former Denver Broncos lineman Connor McGovern’s NFL journey began in the fifth round of the 2015 draft. While his rookie season saw him sidelined without a single snap, his moment came the following year when he stepped up at right guard after Ronald Leary was placed on injury reserve. From that point on, McGovern carved out a steady career with Denver, solidifying himself as a reliable force on the line.

After four years in the Mile High City, McGovern found a new home with the New York Jets, marking a fresh chapter in his career. But football wasn’t the only exciting development in McGovern’s life—June 2020 brought a reunion with his wife, Devin McGovern. Though Devin tends to keep a low profile, she’s made a name for herself as a fitness instructor, sharing her expertise to help others stay in shape.

Within two years of marriage, McGovern received even more life-changing news. In North Dakota, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Dillon Lucy. McGovern couldn’t have been prouder, sharing his excitement with the world: “Mom and baby are great. She was an ounce short of being a nine-pound baby. Happy and healthy big girl.” Little Dillon Lucy made her grand entrance, weighing eight pounds and 15 ounces, bringing boundless joy to the McGovern household.

But the good news didn’t stop there. The Jets lineman also shared that he and his family were building a brand-new house near his parents’ home in Fargo, North Dakota. “We did the classic millennial thing,” McGovern joked. “We’re living with my parents right now while the house is being built.” With a newborn daughter and a new home on the way, McGovern’s off-field life was flourishing just as much as his NFL career.

As McGovern settled into his role with the Jets, he found himself embarking on yet another new journey—this time, one beyond the gridiron. His growing family and a fresh start back in North Dakota offered a sense of balance, showing that while he’s a force to be reckoned with on the field, he’s also a family man building a life full of love and excitement.

Who is Connor McGovern’s wife Devin McGovern?

Since the day Connor signed his three-year deal with the Jets worth $27 million, happiness has flowed into his personal life. After getting married to his longtime girlfriend, Devin McGovern, Connor stepped into a new role besides stopping opposition players from scoring TDs. He became the founder of the second annual Able Games fitness competition hosted in Fargo.

Speaking about him becoming the face of the competition, Connor McGovern stated, “The Able Games is something that myself. And Kim Pladson at TNT Fitness came up with.” While talking about the competition, the Jets’ safety talked us through the process of starting it. “Kim was a family friend, and she reached out to my mom and asked, hey, does Connor have any interest in working with TNT?” Although Connor had a firm interest in the idea, he shared a history of helping special needs athletes at Special Olympics in college.

Have an interesting take?

When asked about his thoughts on growing the competition, McGovern shared, “We’re trying to build that path. The competition has really shown how able these people are and this demographic is. It’s been amazing and incredibly fulfilling for my wife and me to be so involved in this and see the way it’s growing.” This dedication towards the Able games shows the bond Connor shares with everybody, including his wife, Devin.

But it remains to be seen whether the 31-year-old can live up to his NFL dream by guiding the Jets to their first NFL playoffs after 13 seasons of not making a single appearance. Or, will the pressure to perform in a do-or-die season take a toll on McGovern in this year’s NFL?
