Chris Godwin has the strong support of his wife despite adversities! Drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Godwin had a breakout year in 2019 as he earned Pro Bowl honors. Not only this, he also played a significant role during the Super Bowl LV victory in 2021. Playing as a WR for Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently during the Monday Night Football game on October 21, 2024, Chris Godwin, faced a serious ankle injury in the 4th quarter.

Amidst this, his wife continuously supports him through ups and downs. Not just on the fields, but even off-field Godwin and Mariah DelPercio have a strong partnership, sharing a loving bond and doing philanthropic work together.

Who is Mariah DelPercio?

Mariah is a fitness professional and participates in philanthropic advocacy. Born on January 22, 1996,  she was brought up in Delaware. And, she met Chris while she was in high school, attending the Middletown High School in Delaware. They began to date around 2012, and since then they have been inseparable.

Mariah’s family is extensively involved in football. She has built a solid career as a fitness professional and is involved in bodybuilding. Working as a certified personal trainer, she shares a strong passion for fitness with Chris. She told to a blog FRE Skin, “The truth is we love working out together. We motivate each other. For us, it’s so fun to push each other, motivate each other, and teach each other.”

Not only this, they are immensely involved in philanthropy. Co-founding the Team Godwin Foundation, with Chris, they are focused on animal rescue and advocacy. And, her inspiration stems from her volunteering work at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Being involved in vocal advocacy for the ‘Adopt Don’t Shop‘ campaign, they vouch extensively for the ethics of pet ownership. Moreover, the couple adopted two dogs together – Ghost, a Pomeranian-Husky mix, and Ziggy, an American Staffordshire Terrier. In an interview, Mariah remarked, “We’ve always had a soft spot for animals, especially those in shelters. Our mission is to make sure every animal has a loving home and the care they deserve.” Sharing such a deep and understanding bond with Mariah, Chris is quite content.

The bond of love and support

During an interview, Chris elaborately talked of his wife’s dedication to philanthropy adding, “Mariah is the backbone of our foundation. She’s incredibly passionate about what we do and constantly finds new ways to expand our impact.” The couple tied the knot in May 2021 in Malibu, California after years of dating.

Not just this, when Chris signed his contract extension with the Buccaneers, Mariah proudly remarked, “You did it. You told me you would since I met you at 13. … What a ridiculous privilege it is to watch every minute of this story & take part in it with you.” With such loving dedication towards each other, the couple is indeed covering major milestones.
