Is Tammy Reid the unsung hero behind Andy Reid's success with the Kansas City Chiefs?

I have the ultimate trust in Andrew as a coach.” These words from Kansas City Chiefs’s HC Andy Reid’s wife, Tammy, reflect the deep sentiments of their relationship. The love story of one of the NFL’s most inspiring couples is as beautiful as Andy’s successful trajectory in the league. Despite facing many ups and downs since exchanging vows on August 8, 1981, Tammy has always been there to support him. “My whole philosophy and my whole motto in life since I’ve been married is: Live where you’re planted,” Tammy Reid shared during an interview with The Times Herald.

The high-profile NFL wife previously revealed the challenges of being a coach’s spouse, describing how she had to relocate to eight different states with their five children.  That was not easy, but mutual understanding and strong fellowship propelled them forward with an optimistic mindset. “Andrew has transplanted me to eight different states now; I’ve had five kids in five states. You have to be positive and just jump into the community.”

Over time, Tammy gradually accepted the behind-the-scenes reality of the bright life of coaches. Interestingly, she’s grateful to be at his side despite it all. Born on Nov. 6, 1959, in New York, Tammy has been greatly influenced by her parents.

The Memphis, Tennessee native, who later settled in Arizona, where she completed her high school studies, disclosed the impact of her parents. She stated that her mother and father provided an excellent example of the person she aspired to be and were constantly engaged in the community.

According to a report by People, Tammy was inspired by her parents’ work ethic, which helped her face every obstacle in life. “My parents are the greatest examples of service that I’ve ever met in my whole life. There was hardly a day that went by when my mom or dad wasn’t helping someone: driving someone somewhere, fixing something, taking a meal, or baking something,” she said.

Just like her parents, Andy Reid’s wife also contributes to charity to give back to the community. She particularly works for individuals who have experienced domestic violence through the charity organization Laurel House. She was involved in philanthropic work when her NFL husband was working with the Eagles as head coach.

Through her charity work, she realized her overwhelming love for her husband, believing she is lucky. As she once disclosed to People, “I knew that Laurel House was something I could pour my heart into because I am married to one of the greatest men in the world.” With their shared understanding and interests, Tammy and Andy continued to cherish each other’s company. And, this companionship started way back during their college years, growing stronger each day.
