Alvin Kamara, the  New Orleans Saints‘ star running back, is gaining attention both on and off the field. Born on April 16, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey, Te’a Omar Cooper shared intense athletic passions with Alvin. From New Jersey, she moved to Georgia when she was 10 years old. Her family shares athletic roots, as her father, Omar Sr. served as the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball coach. During her formative high school years, Te’a began to display her basketball skills at McEachern High School in Georgia. And, with great conviction, she led her team to three state championships while being named McDonald’s All-American, and Miss Basketball in Georgia twice.

Moving up to the college level, she was associated with three different institutions, i.e., the University of Tennessee, the University of South Carolina, and Baylor University. While she was at Baylor, she went on to secure postseason All-America honors, while being named the Big 12 co-Newcomer of the Year.

Great things were destined for the talented basketball player. The Phoenix Mercury drafted her in the second round of the 2020 WNBA Draft. But, challenges arose due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic as she was dropped from the roster. Things took a favorable turn again when she signed with the Los Angeles Sparks, as she averaged 7.0 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

While she was released by the Sparks in 2022 as her shooting performance declined, she has since then taken to develop her business acumen. She is also the founder of Hollywood Luxury Hair, a hair extension company, and also the ambassador for Fashion Nova while endorsing other brands. Te’a Cooper and Alvin Kamara started to date back in early 2021. It was soon after Cooper’s divorce from NBA player Dwight Howard was finalized in April 2021. On July 25, 2022, Te’a also took to her Instagram to celebrate Kamara’s 27th birthday, with a very adorable caption. Kamara’s involvement in the legal issue after he was arrested and Te’a Cooper’s exploration for new opportunities beyond basketball probably resulted in a drift between the two.
