Zach Tom is one of the Packers‘ most skilled offensive linemen. Fans recognize Tom’s high football IQ, which makes him an exceptional athlete. Off the field, aside from being overly disciplined, some of our sources suggest that the Offensive Tackle is quite close to his parents. Not only that, but some of his previous statements make it clear that his family is always first on his priority list.

If you don’t know, his parents, Vanessa and Michael Tom, are both successful academics at Louisiana State University. They are great parents, and we can assume that they are responsible for much of his discipline, work ethic, and intellect. Let us get to know the two people who helped shape our favorite OT into the rising NFL star that he is today.

Who are Zach Tom’s parents, Vanessa & Michael?

Zach’s father, Michael Tom, is an outstanding academician. He is currently engaged as a professor at LSU, which has greatly enhanced the scope of his fieldwork. It is well known that Michael makes his name the same way his son does on the football field: he pushes the boundaries. Zach’s father’s academic profession had a significant impact on his upbringing. Zach was raised in a household that valued knowledge. We can assume from this fact that he learned to take football as seriously and intellectually as his parents took academics.

Zach’s mother, Vanessa Tom, is also an LSU professor who has carved out her own academic career. Vanessa’s devotion to education reflects her desire to assist the kids she teaches achieve. If you don’t know, Vanessa is actually a firm believer in hard work and tenacity. We can see how she has used her mindset to grow her children. Zach and his siblings the value of establishing high expectations for oneself, whether in school, athletics, or life in general. Aside from that, his parents have always helped the NFL great handle sports and study together. It was tough for him to do that. However, if your parents support you, then you can do the impossible, too.

It was hard for the NFL star to balance academics and athletics

Zach Tom’s story of success is pretty unique. We discussed how his story combines sports and academics, which many successful NFL stories lack. While growing up, the majority of the players came from sports-oriented homes. However, Zach’s journey demonstrates combining academics and athletics could produce a high-IQ offensive tackle.

The OT’s climb to the NFL involves more than simply ability and hard work. His parents, Vanessa and Michael Tom, also played a significant part. We can assume that the LSU academics, fostered in Zach a love of learning, a commitment to quality, and a sense of balance in life.
