Have you ever heard Lose yourself by Eminem? Yeah, that song perfectly defines the story of Tristan Wirfs. From living in trailer parks to becoming the Pro Football Focus’ Best Pass Blocker of the year. Tristan clearly didn’t let the opportunity slide. Tampa Bay made the right decision when they drafted him in 2020. And if we start hand-picking the best offensive tackles in the game, his name will surely be on the list.

His college was the main turf where he started to make a name for himself. As a freshman, Tristan impressively earned a starting position at offensive tackle for Iowa. During his sophomore year, he secured a place on the All-Big Ten list. And how can we forget the year 2019? His exceptional performance earned him his First-team All-American honors from organizations like the Football Writers of America. The cherry on top? He was also named Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Big Ten. But do you think he made it alone this far? NO! His family was always there for him.

Who is Tristan Wirfs’ mom?

Tristan Wirfs’ momma, Sarah Wirfs, is a living example of how far a mother can go to raise her children. It’s important to acknowledge that Tristan’s father was not a part of his life. But that didn’t deter Sarah’s unwavering dedication to her children. She worked tirelessly at Target for nearly 28 long years. Despite being a single mother and the sole provider for her family, she actively participated in every aspect of Tristan’s career. During winter months, she’d spend half the day on Saturdays at Tristan’s wrestling tournaments and then go to Kaylia’s, Tristan’s sister, and attend her archery competitions.

Just her work ethic and watching her struggle and grind every day, coming home after 12-hour shifts at Target and working overnight — she’d get home when my sister and I were going to school in the morning — just seeing that, it’s hard not to want to be great,” Wirf expressed his emotions about his mom’s struggles. That love is still strong in Tristan, as we can see him posting on his Instagram wishing her birthday, “Another year has come and went, but the one thing that remained is the endless love and support you show me and Kaylia, Happy Birthday mama love ya more than anything!!
