Can we credit Terence Steele's rise to the Cowboys to his mom and stepdad's unwavering support?

His statement reflects his forever gratefulness for his parents and family. Entering his 5 season with the Dallas Cowboys , his NFL trajectory is the true testament to his behind-the-scenes support of his parents.

He is successfully putting his leg in the NFL as a Cowboy’s undrafted free agent, hence becoming a well-paid NFL center to cover a significant milestone. In last season, 2023, he made waves with his $86.8 million five-year contract extension with the Cowboys. And, now, with his mom, Stephanie, and Stepfather, Patrick Scrogin’s support, he is all set to make impressive records in the coming years. Terence Steele did not have a seamless upbringing due to his parents’ breakup. But, before moving into his professional sector, his stepfather, Scrogin, helped build his career in the NFL. In the meantime, he became his strength.

According to Spectrum, until his senior year at Byron P. Steele High School, Terence Steele was not sure about shaping the football career. He was indulged in gym and multiple sports, but later, with his stepfather’s, guidance, he worked himself into better shape.

In an interview, NFL offensive tackle also claimed the same. “I remember he asked where I was going and I was like, I’m going to the gym, do you want to go? He was like, sure. So I ended up getting him a membership, and that’s what we did every day. I always wanted to lift more than he did, and vice versa. I wanted to get more reps in than he did and we were just constantly pushing each other.”

It is enough to say that the competitive edge coming from his stepdad helped Steele.Also, Terence Steele expressed his thankfulness and exhilaration for having him as his second dad. “I love him to death, so I’m just glad we’ve been through everything together,” Steele remarked.

Not only his stepdad is always there to support and guide Terence, but the NFL player’s mom, Stephanie, has also been his greatest supporter.

Texas Tech Alum shares a healthy bond with his mom, Stephanie. Besides raising Terence, she also takes care of his two younger sisters, Kaylee and Paige. Allegedly, after parting ways with Terence Steele Sr, she has raised her kids with the support of her second husband, Patrick Scroggin in San Antonio, Texas.

However, there is very limited information available about his mom and dad Terence Steele Sr. But, reportedly later, Scroggin became the inspiration for Terence and his other two siblings.

However, the NFL player is equally exhilarated and motivated to give back to his parents. A year ago, in September 2023, when he got a new contract extension from the Cowboys, his investment strategy for his parents showcased his love for them.

In an interview, the NFL offensive tackle revealed that he would use his money to support his parents. As his mom has been standing behind him every step of the way, he also wants to make her happy by giving a beautiful gift to her. “Honestly, I’m probably gonna take care of my parents. Buy my mom a car,” he disclosed.

However, seemingly, he has equal warmth and respect for his dad. He also revealed his giving back plans for his dad after signing his new contract deal. “Get Pop’s something. Make sure he’s good,” he added. And, to delight everyone with his new contract, he also spoke up frankly about his off-field family responsibility. “So I’ll take care of my family first, and I’ll worry about whatever I need after that,” the Cowboys OL said, showcasing his tight-knit bond with his family.
