Stefon Diggs‘ has earned a respectable position in the NFL! With his remarkable stats as a WR playing for the Houston Texans, it reflects his parents deep belief in him. Drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the peak point for his fame came during the “Minneapolis Miracle” playoff in 2018. From there, he transitioned to Buffalo Bills in 2020, and was traded to Texans in 2023.

Who is Stefon Diggs’ Mother, Stephanie?

Calling his mom as “Superwoman,” Stefon has a deep consideration for his mom Stephanie Diggs. After her husband’s death in 2008, she went to great lengths to raise her children. Working tirelessly for three decades in the role of attendant for Amtrak, while also balancing her jobs at Target and Toys R Us, she made sure that her children had it all.

For Stefon, she made sure that he was balancing academics and sports equally well even though he performed exceptionally well in high-school football. And, Stephanie has been proud of him thoroughly. “It’s probably not as cool for me as it is for my mom,” Stefon adds regarding his success. Both Stefon and his NFL brother Trevor have deep regards for their mother, adding, “I also know it wouldn’t be possible without our mom.”

Not only this, in 2018, Stefon also surprised his mom with an SUV during the Christmas festivities, as a token of his love. And now, concluding her service at Amtrak after 30 years of work, she is relishing in the joyous success of her sons.

How Did Stefon Diggs’ Father Die?

The death of his father, Aron Digg, left a deep void in Stefon’s life. When he was just 5, it was Aron who introduced both Stefon and Trevon to football. And, he taught them discipline. Making them practice 200 push-ups, sit-ups, and constant drills, he rarely gave them compliments, building them for their future.

Unfortunately, Aron passed away in 2008 as he suffered congestive heart failure at just the age of 39 as he was waiting for a heart transplant. And, Stefon was only 14 at this time. But, before he passed away, Stefon had a deep conversation with his dad who told him, “Look after your brothers. Look after your mom. Look after your family.” And, Stefon has truly delivered his best to prove himself to his father.

Talking about his dad’s passing away, Stefon gets nostalgic. “That s**t was fu**ed up. We were hurt. We felt down. Because he was not only a father figure but also a cool friend who could provide valuable knowledge.” But, he has tried his best not to falter. He considered it as his underlying motivation to be resolute and give his best. “My Pops left me a message to do, and I accomplished it, and now I’m moving forward,” he said. And, to date, he continues to honor his late father with his hard work and success and by taking care of his family.
