Though overcoming his father’s untimely passing was not easy for him, he handled the situation well with his mom, Sue, and other siblings. Scott has 3 brothers, Gerry, John, and Joe Hanson, and a sister, Lisa. Currently, Scott Hanson is making headlines for his recruitment by Madden NFL 26 as the new in-game voice. Impressively, before entering into the anchoring field, Scott, 53, also played football for Syracuse University. And, he has now become one of the popular figures among NFL fans. Who are Scott Hanson’s parents?

Hanson, 53, who started hosting “NFL RedZone” in 2009, is greatly influenced by his dad, Jerry Hanson. Scott never fails to credit his dad for his popular show’s accomplishment. Last year in August, when he had a word with SI on RedZone becoming the show of record, he recounted, “I just thought back to my dad. I used to beg my dad to let me stay up on Monday Night Football to watch Howard Cosell do halftime highlights. I’m 53 years old, so I go back far enough to remember.” It indeed exhibited his father’s contribution in his life.

His dad passed away in 2020 after battling cancer. The NFL reporter himself announced this news through one of his IG posts on June 13, 2020. Along with posting the throwback pictures, featuring young Scott with his dad Jerry, he wrote the heartfelt note. “My Dad died this morning. Most of you follow me because of my work on NFL RedZone. Please know that if you enjoy the passion and energy I have for football — it came from the man in these pics,” he mentioned.

Further he appreciated his dad’s passion for having such great energy. “In his prime, my Dad was a force of nature. He had an enthusiastic, contagious zest for life. But cancer often works quickly, and it did in this case. I’m thankful I got to spend 5 days with him this week to share stories – (the man LOVED stories), tell him I love him… & say goodbye,” he added further. His touching tribute to his beloved dad showcased that he took inspiration from his dad’s zest for life.

However, there is limited information available about his mom, Sue, apart from her name. She raised him along with her other 4 kids. Scott Hanson’s guardians, Jerry Hanson and mom, Sue, share 4 sons’s s Gerry, John, Joe Hanson, and Scott, and 1 daughter, Lisa.

Interestingly, Scott Hanson shares a strong bond with his sister, Lisa.  Previously, on May 25, 2020, his heartwarming birthday wishes for her sister went viral. “Happy Birthday to my sweet Sister. What a ride! To see you grow in love, & experience all the wonders of our lives together has been one of my greatest joys. I love you, Lisa!!!” he mentioned in his post. It indeed showcased his immense love for his sister. Impressively, not only for his sister, but, Scott has equal appreciation for his other siblings. On National Siblings Day, on 10 April 2018, Rochester, Michigan native expressed his love for his brothers and sister through the IG post. “To the best Sister & Brother a guy could have… happy #nationalsiblingday Love you both!” he noted. In this post, he hilariously asked his mom about their hairstyles by sharing a throwback childhood picture. “But the 3rd pic – Mom: what are we doin’ w hair?!?,” he described. It indeed showcased his strong bond with his parents and siblings. Besides this, he also keeps his marital life private.

Is Scott Hanson married and have children?

NFL reporter prefers to keep his married life private. He has never spoken up about his wife and kids. But, some reports suggested that he has one daughter, Geri Ann Hanson, born on Oct 17, 2020. Back on Oct 17, 2020, when Hanson shared the sneak peek of his living room while watching CFB, an X follower asked about his marital status. Along with sharing the short video clip, he details it with a caption. “Beautiful thing – watching a ton of CFB while studying for #nflredzone,” Scott wrote on X.

To this, an X follower asked about his marriage while asking tips.  “Are you married? My gf won’t allow me to have a 2nd TV in the living room. Any tips? We’re in Florida so no basement man caves here,” he questioned. Interestingly, the NFL reporter’s reply captivated many as he disclosed his opinion about his future wife. “Not married – but I’ve prepared my speech for my future wife… “Honey, the kids’ college fund and that European vacation you want to take kinda depend on me watching all this.” & I feel you on FL – lived in Tampa. Gotta convert a den, attic or air conditioned garage.,” Hanson replied.

Though with this instance, it is clear that till 2020, he was unmarried. But his current marital status is unknown. Besides this, Scott Hanson is survived by his beloved Aunt Margaret Benjamin. He also has seven nieces and nephews and twelve great-nieces and nephews. With a beautiful family surrounding him, he indeed feels complete.
