Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Sam Williams has a son who reminds him how far he has come in his life. Williams, the defensive end, is reported to have a relationship with skincare and cosmetic businesswoman Mekial. Together, they welcomed their first child, Samuel D. Williams Jr., also known as SJ, on June 11, 2020.

Now four years old, Samuel Jr. himself has an identity on social media, boasting over 500 followers on Instagram. With his name, “samdwjr” on IG, his parents run the account, highlighting his traits: “I’m not a regular baby, I’m a cool baby.” The profile also tags both momma Mekial and dad Williams in the bio.

As of now, all 36 posts on his Instagram are fully dedicated to Samuel Jr.’s fun outings with his parents. He is often seen accompanying his mother to NFL games to support and cheer for his father, the Cowboys’ star player. Whether it’s a family trip to Texas Forest Fest last year, a visit to the bowling alley, Cathy’s Critters’ Zoo, or a walk in Texas’ icy weather, Samuel Jr. enjoys every bit with his cool casual outfits, sometimes paired with funky sunglasses. All of these posts clearly show that the four-year-old loves vacationing and playing a lot. But wait, there’s more that the child loves.

While visiting Texas Forest Fest last March, Samuel Jr. was seen with bubbles and fries in his hands. The video had an overlaying caption written by his parents: “Bubbles and fries, his two favorites.” Besides that, playing with water and visiting water parks or zoos are also favorite activities for Junior Williams.

In most of the pictures, he can be seen on the shoulders, in the lap, or holding hands of his father while eating, walking, playing sports, or even playing a child’s guitar. His posts clearly suggest that he is the apple of his father’s eye. Besides him, the professional athlete also has another baby, probably another boy, with Mekial. Unfortunately, there is nothing much on the internet about his second baby as he is too small to appear in public for now. However, when Mekial was pregnant with him, the couple hosted a celebration party last year. Williams Jr. also attended that party, twinning with his dad in a white and blue tuxedo, and accompanied Senior Williams on the dance floor.

When Sam Williams became a father, it changed everything for him. The birth of his son, Sam Williams Jr. (SJ), became a powerful reminder of how far he’s come and where he’s headed. Williams’ journey was filled with obstacles. How? Well, it is never easy when you are separated from your mother.

Growing up in rural Alabama, he and his siblings were taken from their mother and raised by his grandmother and later an aunt due to some unknown reasons. Additionally, there was a point in his life when he even lived on a friend’s living room floor. Before his senior year of high school, he asked a substitute teacher, Tiffani Cain, if he could live with her family. Later, as time passed, the caring Cain became his “mom.” But that’s not where his sad story ends!

Williams’ path to football success wasn’t straightforward. He played only one full year of high school football and faced multiple setbacks, including being expelled from his school and suspended from Ole Miss in 2020 after an arrest for felony sexual battery charges. Although the charges were dropped, the incident left a mark on his reputation.

Despite these challenges, Williams is now a renowned player for America’s Team and sees son SJ as his inspiration to stay on the right path and build a better future. In his emotional words for his son, Williams expressed, “Right now I’m focusing on what he sees after that. One day, I’m going to have to break it down. ‘Yeah, your dad got in trouble.’ But he will see, ‘It happened, but my dad overcame that, and my dad never turned back to that and never let it break him down. He got back up.’”
