The USA breathes 2 sports. Football and Baseball. If you’re involved in any of these games at the top level, then you’re doing pretty well. But what if someone is actively involved in both sports at the top level? Of course, I’m not talking about any athlete, but a sportscaster. Yep, It is Kevin Burkhardt. Well, we all know him due to his involvement in both NFL and MLB.
He’s someone, who has made his name even without playing professionally. We all love him because he has a great rapport with the legendary Tom Brady in the commentary box. But except for his wife, we know so little about his personal life. Ever wondered where he started this journey? Who are his parents and how did he even get here? Well, let’s dive into it.

Who is Kevin Burkhardt’s mom?
Kevin’s mother Betty Burkhardt is from Bloomfield, New Jersey. She married Wayne Burkhardt in the ’70s, and Kevin was born to her in March of 74. She used to work as a legal secretary. Betty kept the environment of the family pretty connected, with you know, the usual Sunday stuff. Every Sunday, after church, Kevin Burkhardt, his dad Wayne, his mom Betty, and his brother Brian would swing by the Village Cupboard to grab some cold cuts. Then they’d head home, settle in front of the TV, and spend the rest of the day watching football together and this sparked his interest in the sports for the first time.
On his mother’s 70th birthday, his family had a family reunion, where Kevin gifted a beautiful portrait of the family to her mom. Damn, gotta be the most wholesome thing! Maybe it was just the environment that she provided that had Kevin intrigued about sports. But the boy from Bloomfield was yet to start his journey towards a not-so-traditional profession from where he comes. And another person (apart from his mom) was going to boost this kid’s aspirations.
Who is the sportscaster’s Dad?
Wayne Burkhardt is a retired credit manager. He is an interesting person in Kevin’s life. Wayne used to take a young Kevin for a walk in the street and there the kid used to see other folks playing football. That was when he thought, ‘You know, this is it.’ “The reason I got into this is from throwing the football in the street with my dad when I was a kid,” Kevin said in an interview with Jay Glazer on the Fox Sports Studio’s YouTube channel.
Watching football on TV with his father and brother Brian, he somehow became an Eagles fan. Well, he has credited Pat Summerall’s voice for that, who would scream “Randall Cunningham”, this used to give Kevin Chills. Oh, man, Pat’s voice could give anyone chills. But all this interest in the sport was not getting Kevin anywhere closer to what he wanted to do. For that, he waited for a lot of time. A LOT!
