Kenny Pickett has the strong backing of his parents! After spending around 2 seasons with the Steelers, he signed a $14 million contract with the Eagles in March 2024. During that time when the Steelers traded him to the Eagles, the NFL QB seemed grateful for the opportunities.
And, profoundly, he recalled his great memories of his dad, Ken Pickett, and other family members as they helped him discover his passion for football. “I have great memories of my dad taking me here, my grandfather, all my family members coming out to the games together and just having great memories,” Kenny, 26 remarked in an interview he gave in March 2024. Interestingly, his athletic parents, Kasey and Ken Pickett, carved his path to the NFL. They have been by his side throughout his life journey.

Who are Ken and Kasey Pickett?
Kenny Pickett carries a great influence of his athletic parents in his life. Just like him, his dad, Ken Pickett, was also involved in football. He excelled as a linebacker during his time at Shippensburg University. Like his son, Ken also had a remarkable college career.

He earned the All-America Second Team honor during his senior year of college. That’s impressive! Not only this, Ken also secured the nomination for the Harlon Hill Award, the division II, in his college days. It truly showcased his father’s dominance in the football world. Probably, he played an elemental role in shaping his football journey.
He has tremendous support not only from his dad but also from his mom, Kasey Pickett. She is also a former soccer player. During the 90s, she played for Division II Kutztown University. Being an athletic mom, she also instilled athletic principles and morals in him. Probably it helped him shape his NFL trajectory. So, since his early days, they have been his biggest source of inspiration in his athletic drive.

Former Steelers QB’s dad, Ken started giving him important football lessons at the age of 5. He turned to his coach for years. Under his true guidance and support, he mentored Kenny till his days at Township High School. Back in March, after being traded by the Eagles, the NFL QB himself credited his dad for initiating his football fandom.

Growing up in Philadelphia, Kenny disclosed that his dad brought him up as an Eagles fan. The NFL QB revealed that his dad often used to take him to watch the Eagles games at the Linc when he was just 5. It was his dad who provided him with amazing exposure to the football world. He introduced him to big players like Brian Dawkins, Brian Westbrook, and Donovan McNabb. Interestingly, all of them became his favorite players as he grew older.
Prior to his trade to the Eagles, the Pickett family never missed even a single game from his Pittsburgh days with the Steelers. And, when he joined the Eagles, his dad, and the whole family were super excited, as they need not travel more.

During a press conference in March, Pickett himself revealed his exhilaration at playing with the Eagles, close to his home. “It’s an hour-and-15-minute drive now instead of five and a half, and they’ve been making that five-and-a-half-hour drive for seven years now,” he stated.
Besides this, he continued further. “So it’s my turn to make the drive back over this way, a little bit closer, and be able to spend some more time with family and see everybody. It’s gonna be pretty special.” Hence, despite his busy schedule, Kenny Pickett makes it a point to always spend quality time with his family, making each moment count.
