Kendrick Bourne, the New England Patriots WR is known for his exceptional versatility. Signing with the Patriots in 2021 after he played four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, the Portland native had a spectacular 2023 season. He amassed 37 receptions for 406 yards and 4 touchdowns, a feat to reckon with. His Super Bowl dream is not his only priority; taking care of his parents, Eric and Luisa Turner is equally important to him.

The gridiron hero Kendrick was born to Erin and Luisa on August 4, 1995, and is the youngest of the three sons. He also has a younger sister, back in Portland. Luisa, his mother, originally a resident of American Samoa, had moved to Oregon when she was 5 since most of her family was in Oregon. She emphasizes, “Our family loves to dance. It’s part of our culture,” which had indeed contributed to Kendrick’s cheerful disposition and affinity for dancing. “Ken has a way of making people just like him with his goofy self,” Luisa remarked.

Besides dancing, Kendrick Bourne gets his singing capabilities from his dad, Eric Turner. He sang in the church choir, learning to tune his voice and playing the drums from him. Eric, a hardworking landscaper, had also built a strong work ethic in Kendrick early on.

However, it was not rosy every time. During high school, when Kendrick started to tread the wrong path, Luisa remarks, “We had to have some serious talks. He had to see me cry a couple of times.” She made Eric talk to him. Supporting him across the formative years, to helping him build a career in football, they have always been on his side. Kendrick’s parents also partake in philanthropic initiatives through their Bourne Blessed Foundation, addressing issues like food insecurity and promoting educational opportunities.

And, showing his gratitude for his parents’ relentless support, Kendrick Bourne surprised his parents with a house in the native state.

Back in 2022, during Easter weekend, Kendrick Bourne celebrated it by gifting his parents a house in his hometown, Portland. Kendrick remarks, “It’s a big house. It cost me a lot of money. Just something I’ve been dreaming of doing, and I’m really happy I was able to do it.” Despite the costs, he did it as it was more “about making my family happy, my mom happy, my dad happy. Just taking care of them for the rest of their lives. They took care of me for the beginning of my whole life. It’s time to repay.”

Evidently surprised and joyful at the revelation of the new home, Luisa remarked, “When I walked in, it just felt like home. I could see my life – my grandchildren here, my kids here,” she stated. “It warms my heart that he did this for his family.”

The mansion has everything, from the basketball court to the finished basement, home gym with a sauna, to luscious views of nature. It has it all. And to top it off, there’s a “Home Sweet Home” doormat. Luisa further added, “That’s when I burst out in excitement. Since he was a baby, he’s been something else!” Indeed, Kendrick’s parents are truly proud of him.
