Does Kam Curl deserve a bigger contract, or is his father's demand for $80M unrealistic?

Kam Curl has got all that he needs! The strong backing of his parents. “He wants to be great at it, he doesn’t want to be good. He wants to be great,” his father Greg Curl previously remarked. It showcased ex- High School DC, Greg Curl’s faith in his NFL son’s football skills. Interestingly, Washington’s seventh-round pick of the 2020 NFL draft, Curl has also left no stone unturned to make his parents proud.

With impressive 2024 season records, he is moving forward to accomplish his NFL goal.  Los Angeles Rams safety impressively recorded  28 solo tackles with two passes defended and a fumble recovery this season. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury during the Thursday night Rams game against the Vikings. Despite the tough phase, he seems optimistic about quickly returning to the field. And, it is because of his mom, Adrienne, and dad Greg Curl’s unwavering support.

Kam Curl shares a healthy bond with his mother, Adrienne. She has been his greatest supporter throughout. Earlier, when Kam was all set to have a stronger season in 2021 than in 2020, his mom expressed her feelings for her NFL safety son.

Not only this, but she also demonstrated her pride in being part of her son’s athletic journey throughout. Mrs. Adrienne stated that he is a “remarkable person”. “I am honored once again to be a part of this journey with him. I mean daily I look at him and think ‘Wow, God saw fit to allow me to be your mom, and take this journey with you,” she further added.

Impressively, not only his mom encouraged him to achieve his NFL goal, but his dad, equally supported him throughout.

Interestingly, Curl, 23’on-field performance was superior to his draft status as a seventh-round choice. This brings up his contractual state. And when he reached the last year of his rookie contract in 2023. Allegedly, He was likely to sign a $3 million deal for the 2024 season because of the NFL’s proven performance escalator.

And, on the other hand,  Kam Curl’s father was not seen as pleased with his son following in the footsteps of the others. Taking to his X handle, he expressed his view regarding the deal.

“My opinion and my opinion only, but I will find it extremely disappointing and disrespectful if Washington asks #31 to play at the level he plays under a 7th-round rookie contract this year!!!,” his dad tweeted. That showcased his constant support in Curl’s NFL career. The Washington Today’s football analyst, Jordan tweeted his sentiments too.

Curl’s whole family supported the Redskins’ division opponent, but he preferred the  Steelers and Houston Oilers. But as young Curl turned into an NFL prospect, his father quickly embraced the idea of the Cowboys picking him.

“If they call his name, I’ll be the biggest Cowboys fan ever.” Greg Curl stated in an interview. Seemingly now, Curl’s father now has even more cause to dislike the Cowboys.
