Just after a year Patrick Mahomes joined the league, he was met with his arch nemesis Josh Allen. The Buffalo Bills QB is doing a fine job filling in Jim Kelly’s shoe and he still has a long road ahead of him. He always found the support of his family ever since he was a kid. Allen recalled an instance where his father used to take him to school and interviewed him as if he won a Super Bowl.
Speaking about Allen’s career without considering his family would be a huge injustice because their family values have always focused on sticking together and being there for each other. That’s why on a lot of occasions, his 3 siblings Nicala, McKenna, and Jason can be spotted at Bills games.

Allen grew up in the small town of Firebaugh, California, a short 45-minute drive from Fresno. Joel and LaVonne Allen met at California Polytechnic State University, where his dad took Agribusiness and his mother studied Fashion Design and Merchandising. They got married on September 17, 1988, and have been together for about 3 decades now.
When Allen got drafted into the NFL, his father had a heartfelt message for him. “I know you’re going to do some amazing things, and your mom and dad, we’re 100% behind you,” Joel said. “I’m so proud of you. Love you son.” The Buffalo Bills QB makes it count when it matters the most and those work ethics, he learned from his father, who runs a 3,000-acre land that grows cotton, alfalfa, and cantaloupes. Seeing his father work hard has been an inspiration for the QB.
“Seeing my dad wake up super early when the sun wasn’t even out and then coming home when the sun was set, he worked his tail off to provide for our family and did a great job. He’s the most selfless man I know, and I think if I’m half the man he is, I’ll be all right in this world,” said Allen of his father.
Sports has been in Josh Allen’s veins since childhood
Interestingly, both his parents come from a farming background, so his father choosing a profession might not have been that much of a hassle. Raising their 4 kids also wasn’t a hassle for Allen’s parents. But the most surprising thing of all is that the QBs parents were also coaches in multiple sports. His father was coaching Pop Warner and was the president of the swim team and the Cal Ripken Baseball organization, while his mother used to coach volleyball and basketball.

“As Josh and our boys started getting out, we’ve definitely passed the torch,” LaVonne told the Casper Star-Tribune. “But growing up, we’ve been very active parents. Every weekend was filled with us doing some sort of activity. … The town kind of shuts down. Everybody is at different sporting events. It’s just what we do.” Josh Allen is the second child of four siblings, who don’t miss out on a chance to support their star quarterback brother. His parents take trips across the country to watch him play and have been mainstays and Bills games for a while now.

Allen’s parents have always surrounded their kids with sports and that’s why they grew up countryside and had a basketball court and a batting cage at their premises to keep the kids busy. Allen described his father in such a way that any parent would feel proud, “the greatest role model in the world,” is what Allen thinks of his father.
And just like Josh Allen, his parents reciprocate the emotions that he gives out. “It was a (challenge), but totally worth it,” he added. “I think there would be a lot of dads that would kill to be in my position.”
