The well-known sports reporter and insider Jordan Schultz’s family history is quite phenomenal! The family name is tied with one of the most famous franchises, i.e…. Starbucks. Jordan is the son of billionaire entrepreneur and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, while his mom, Sheri Kersch Schultz, is a philanthropist. Taking inspiration, he has, however, carved his own path, building his career in the media.

Besides journalism, Schultz was also athletically involved in playing college basketball. He is married to Breanna Hawes Schultz, who is the interim Executive Director and co-founder of WELL/BEINGS Charity, thus making them a power couple. Truly, Jordan has achieved a great deal in life, professionally and personally.

Who are Jordan Schultz’s parents?

Jordan’s dad, Howard, is a self-made billionaire who wrought the transformation of Starbucks into a global coffee empire. Born on July 19, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, his childhood inconvenience pushed him to achieve great things. Finances became limited, owing to which he grew up in public housing. But, his business acumen took center stage in 1982 after joining Starbucks.

At that time, Starbucks was merely a small Seattle coffee chain. However, by 1986, under his helm, it became a global force. Leading its expansion beyond coffee beans, it transformed into a café with innovative services like loyalty programs, espresso bars, and a commitment to ethical sourcing. Howard stepped down as interim CEO in March 2023. But his leadership does not remain limited to this franchise. He was briefly an owner of the Seattle SuperSonics (2001-2006).

Howard Schultz met his wife Sheri in the Hamptons in 1978. The attraction was immediate, as Howard describes Sheri in his book. “She was not only beautiful but well-grounded, with solid Midwestern values, from a close and loving family.” Soon after, they tied the knot in 1982, paving the way for Starbucks’ rise in the global market.

With her commitment to philanthropy, in 1996, Sheri co-founded the Schultz Family Foundation, serving as its president for a long time. Sheri is a native of Lima, Ohio, and went to the University of Denver, earning a degree in political science. Sheri and Howard have two children, Jordan and Addison Schultz.

Howard never fails to credit Sheri for her support, remarking, “If she wasn’t as supportive then as she was, I don’t think we would be here today,” as mentioned in Marie Claire’s article from 2019.

After graduating from the University of Washington, Breanna sought to build her own path. Moreover, she never backs down from her commitment to serving nature and society.
