Jeremy Chinn’s father, James Chinn, a St. Louis, Missouri native, loved sports from a young age. But he never played it professionally. After completing his college at the Southeast Missouri State University, he started working. During those days, he met the love of his life, Nichelle Gilbert. There love blossomed and soon they welcomed a son named Jeremy Chinn.

Jeremy Chinn started playing football at a young age. James liked it and always supported his son. He now works at Verizon Connect in Hudson, Florida. He has also treasured his relationships, and in 2023, James completed 33 years as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, a fraternity of mostly African Americans. During all of this, his focus never wavered from his children. Over time, his son became one of the best in college football. Overwhelmed when Jeremy was chosen for Senior Bowl, he posted his son’s photo on Instagram with the caption ‘so proud.‘

Though James has separated from Nichelle, he still supports his son by going to the stadiums with his first wife. Jeremey Chinn also loves his father as he posted a video on Father’s Day in 2020 unpacking a Panthers jersey with his number 21. He aptly titled the video, “Dad, I love you so much always.”

A scientist by profession and philanthropist by nature, Nichelle was always focused on her son. Being the firstborn of her family, she had the necessary experience as she had looked after her siblings as well. But raising a child is a different ballgame. Yet, she did it rather wonderfully.

The proud NFL mom also supports her son on social media. On November 5, she posted a photo of him walking into the gridiron with his teammates, showing her love for the firstborn child. Not only the values of discipline and hard work, she also gave Jeremy Chinn a unique trait. As she loves dogs and has one at home, Jeremy Chinn also developed an affection for the animals.
