San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker Fred Warner is lacing up for Super Bowl redemption against Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, after a 31-20 loss to Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV four years ago. Besides Warner, his family members are also turning heads ahead of the much-anticipated clash. It was only recently that Warner’s pregnant wife Sydney Hightower, got clearance to fly to Las Vegas to watch the Super Bowl LVIII. Meanwhile, fans are also curious to discover more about the 49ers superstar’s other family members, notably, his parents.
Fred Warner was born on November 19, 1996, as the first child of Fred Warner Sr. and Laura Warner. The couple shares two other children, a son and a daughter besides the 49ers linebacker.

Only less is known about the San Francisco star’s father, Fred Warner Sr. He is an African-American of Panamanian descent. Warner Sr. and Laura Warner ended their relationship when Warner Jr. was still a toddler. However, the 27-year-old said in an interview that he and his father stay in touch to this day. “He is very supportive, from when we were little even to this day,” Warner said. “It’s just that he wasn’t present because of the dynamic between him and my mom.

Hence, Laura had to painstakingly bring up the future NFL icon and his brother Troy Warner and sister Mya Warner. Laura Warner worked as a secretary at a law office. “My mom had such a huge task of raising not only me but my two younger siblings. We watched her wake up, drive an hour to work, and stay late to provide for us,” Fred Warner said about his mother, Laura. She is of Mexican descent and her roots have a profound influence on Fred Warner and his actions.

Fred Warner always takes pride in his mother’s roots
Thanks to her mother’s Mexican and father’s Panamanian roots, Fred Warner has emerged as one of the biggest spokespersons for the Latino community in San Francisco. Besides, NFL fans have become habitual to seeing Warner carry a Mexican flag to the field when he heads out for action. In an interview, he once explained why he does so. “Unfortunately, my mom’s Mexican father died when she was still a small child. However, that Mexican part of my family has always been active in my life. In my home, Spanish was always spoken. So, yes, it has played a role in my life,” said Warner.

In a nod to Laura’s life as a single mother, Fred Warner teamed up with Levis to host a shopping for 15 single mothers from California. It is yet to be learned if Laura Warner will make it to the Super Bowl LVIII clash, alongside Warner’s wife Sydney Hightown. However, she has indeed set an example for single mothers by raising a champion of a son, Fred Warner.
