Even his promising last season performance culminated in his amazing one-year contract extension with the Texans. Interestingly, he recorded 70 % of his passes for 191 Yards, and 1 TD pass in preseason. Post his preseason performance, Davis Mills inked the $5 million contract deal with the Texans for the 2025 NFL season in September. And, now he will play as the team backup QB to CJ Stroud. Davis Mills shares a healthy bond with his mom, Dawn Mills. She has been his consistent pillar of support throughout his life journey. Just like his son, she was also involved in sports. According to her Twitter bio, she is a former passionate tennis player.

Beyond her professional life, Dawn Mills lives a happily married life with her husband Steve. They both have been married for more than 30 years. Davis Mills’s guardians raised him along with his two sisters, Erin and Ali, who are also involved in sports.

Allegedly, just like his mom, Davis’ sisters are also tennis players. Erin is a former Tusculum tennis player. On the other hand, Dawn’s other daughter, Ali, was a standout South Carolina tennis player.

Allegedly, after encountering his viral neck memes, Mill’s mother urged him to pursue turtleneck sponsorships. Though, it was quite humorous to all.

Even NFL QB himself revealed the same during the discussion in a Houston radio show with the host,  Landry Locker. “My mom was trying to tell me to hit up the marketing people so I could get turtleneck sponsors,” he expressed humorously.

Thus, his mother’s participation in every endeavor demonstrated their close proximity. Not only his mother but his dad’s support for him is also a well-known factor among NFL fans.

Davis Mills’s father showers unflinching support on his son

Texans QB also has tremendous backing from his dad, Steve. Father-son bond went viral during his rookie season in 2021. When Davis was all set to kick the ball in his first game against the Carolina Panthers, his dad’s message captivated many Texans fans at that moment.

Ahead of Davis’s first match of his NFL career, Steve sent a heartfelt message to the NFL fans through the former FOX 26 sports director, Mark Berman. “Give the kid a chance. He’s probably out there a little earlier than anyone anticipated. Stick with him and he’ll do good by you,” he remarked. It indeed showcased his massive support and belief in his NFL son.
