Can we credit Deanna and Danny Belton for Dane's rise in the NFL? What do you think?

Dane Belton has the strong backing of his parents. “My son Dane is so positive going forward,” his dad, Danny Belton, previously said, showcasing his immense faith in his NFL son. With his steadfast support, the veteran safety has continued to showcase his dominance on the field since joining the  New York Giants in 2022. Since being drafted by the Giants as a 4-round pick, he has made 7 starts in a total of 32 regular-season games. He is now all set to enter his 3 season with the franchise with impressive records.

Over the last two seasons, he has recorded a total of 58 tackles, 1 sack, 4 interceptions, and 4 tackles. These impressive stats indeed indicate that he has received strong off-field mentorship from his parents. Thus, it goes without doubt that his NFL success cannot be mentioned without acknowledging his mom, Deanna, and dad, Danny.

Danny Belton serves as a strong influence on Dane’s football career. Danny had attended the University of Iowa, and naturally, he shares a special connection with the Hawkeyes. As he hails from Iowa’s southernmost city, Keokuk, Danny has been a big fan of the Hawkeyes. And, it dates back to the the early ‘80s.

Since then he has been a die-hard fan. “I have always loved the Hawkeyes, and every time they are on TV, I would watch them and cheer for them,” Danny previously remarked.

Reportedly, Danny was the one who sparked Dane’s interest in football, planting the seeds at an early age. While his father played an important role in shaping Dane’s football journey, by supporting him at every step, his mother, Deanna, has also been a rock-solid support to help him soar high.

Well, nothing much has been documented about her on public readership. There is limited information available about her, but when Deanna had taken to attend Dane’s games at Iowa, he was appreciative of her presence.

Taking to his official Instagram handle in 2020, Dane shared multiple pictures featuring himself with his mom and dad, as he was beaming with happiness. He captioned the post with, “Never lose sight of your why,”. This showcased his affection with his mom. However, his mother’s efforts also can not be avoided. Reportedly as Dane had food allergies throughout his life, she made sure everyone was aware of it, at daycare, school, sports teams, and all other places.

She even experimented with allergy-friendly recipes, especially from Kids with Food Allergies (KFA). And, she went on to bake a memorable pumpkin pie when Dane was 12.

Thus, these instances have depicted a profound affinity between them. NFL safety shares a healthy bond with his parents.

The supportive bond of parents

When Dane was a sophomore at Iowa, his dad noticed his understanding of the game, which led him to believe in Dane’s future in football. Without delay, he started taking Dane to various college campuses to hone his football skills.

In an interview, Danny revealed that before Dane’s junior year, he took him to camps at Iowa and Iowa State. However, at the time, neither was sure what to expect, and they were not particularly navigating it with the idea of building future prospects.

“Honestly, we didn’t know what to think at that point,” Danny said, but they enjoyed watching the game. “At that point, you really don’t know what to think or where it might go.”

Earlier, Danny also gained significant limelight when he spoke about the racism allegations at Iowa against Hawkeyes coach Chris Doyle. He admitted that he initially felt “betrayed,” thinking his son would be safe being sent over 1,000 miles away. “Racism isn’t new, just more visible with social media,” Danny added.

Thus, with his parent’s unwavering support, he has been grounded to seek and do better at all junctures of his life. And, that indeed makes his parents proud
