Would Dalton Schultz be the same NFL star without the support of his parents, Troy and Suzy?

Although Dalton Schultz’s professional life is currently under controversial scrutiny and is surrounded by issues, his personal life is as fine as earlier. Recently, his teammate and cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr., ran up and hit an unaware Dalton Schultz on the practice field in Texans training camp on July 24. It was reportedly due to friction between offense and defense. Eventually, the camp ended on Day 1 badly, but luckily Schultz had his family by his side to cheer him on.

A beautiful family! That’s how we can sum up Dalton Schultz’s personal life. Schultz was born on July 11, 1996, to Troy Golightly and Suzy Wilkerson. The couple holds American nationality, and are residents of Sandy, Utah, U.S. Troy. and Suzy also shares two more sons, Tom and Brad Schultz, alongside Dalton.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any information about the couple and their careers, as they like to keep a low profile in public. But if one sees Dalton’s social media accounts, especially Instagram, it is easily recognizable that he is a family man, and is very close to his parents. In one of the pictures posted by Dalton on Christmas Day, the tight end was seen posing with his parents and grandmother in front of a Christmas tree with which he wrote, “I love this little family of mine,” indicating his tight bond with his parents.

Dalton’s parents and entire family have been supportive of the Texans’ TE and have watched his games since his college career. His parents are two of his biggest cheerleaders as they often visit him on his NFL game days as well. In October 2016, when Dalton played a game at USC, the family attended it to support the player.

The 28-year-old shared a group photo of them on his Instagram and wrote, “Flashback Friday with my amazing supporting cast at USC, it means the world having family and friends come out to games and show their support #FOE #BeatColorado.”

The professional athlete also uploaded a photo in 2016, wherein he can be holding a baby in his arms while his father Troy accompanied them for a click. Dalton wrote a caption for his mom, saying, “This one’s for the scrapbook mom,” with a smiling emoji. The love and care Dalton showed while holding that baby tells us what he must have felt when he first became a dad.

Dalton Schultz married his long-time girlfriend and college sweetheart, Laurel Heinrich, on July 6, 2020. That was one of the blessed and greatest days of his life. But in 2018, everything changed for Schultz when he became a father for the first time. He was blessed with a son who he named Theodore.

This profound experience shifted his view of life. Now, he also has a daughter, Savannah. In 2022, he reflected on how becoming a parent has given him a new perspective, one that he finds overwhelmingly positive.

Schultz shared, “Honestly, it’s been very nice from my perspective. Over Thanksgiving, I was reflecting on one: having a job you love is awesome but also having the perspective that young kids bring you after you pour everything into your day job.

He added, “Now you go home and you’re explaining why we use a spoon over a fork—these simple, novel concepts to the adult brain—but to him (my son) it’s a whole new world.” Schultz also reminisced about a moment after a Green Bay game in the same year, when his son, who was just starting to understand numbers, told him, “Daddy, you lost. I’m sad.” These moments remind Schultz of the pure and innocent way children view the world, and how they bring a new depth of meaning to life.
