The Jones family is full of talent, either in the entertainment industry or in the sports world! All of them have achieved fame on their own. And the start was from Coco Jones’ father, Mike Jones, who was an NFL player.

Born on January 4, 1998, in Columbia, South Carolina, Coco Jones is the older daughter of dad Mike Jones and mom Javonda Jones. Besides Coco, the Jones couple, who are now separated, have two sons, Steven and Mikey Jr., as well as a younger daughter, Aja Jones. By profession, Coco’s mother is in the entertainment industry, working as a singer and a session vocalist, with years of experience in business management. As Coco followed her mother’s path, her other siblings chose their dad’s industry.

Both brothers, Steven and Mike Jr. “followed in their athletic father’s footsteps with an interest in football.” Steven was also a footballer who played college football earlier. While on the other hand, Mike Jr., who also played college football at Clemson University, continued with his interest as his major career, earning a spot in the NFL last year.

Mike Jr. is currently playing as a linebacker in the league and is signed by the Atlanta Falcons. He was selected in round 2 at pick 31, in the 2023 NFL Draft, after signing a 3-year, $2,705,000 contract with the team. Besides these two brothers, Coco’s younger sister, Aja Jones, is an athlete too. Attending Florida A&M University, Aja is currently playing as a volleyball player on the University’s roster. Although these siblings remain busy with their respective schedules, whenever they meet they make sure to have fun.

When Coco was just 15, she gave an interview with Commercial Appeal, and highlighted her bond with her family, including her three siblings. The Grammy winner expressed, “Anytime I have a break, I’m going to go home and chill with my family, even if it’s just for a night. That’s how much we love being together.” There is no doubt that these siblings share a strong bond among themselves, helping each other in their respective careers, and making singer mom and former NFL star dad proud!

Like her father, Coco Jones knows how to bring out her inner competitor, a trait many might not be familiar with. Her dad, Mike Jones, who is a former linebacker for several NFL teams, including the Los Angeles Rams, has also passed on his athletic traits to his older daughter. And guess what? She is a singer now, but in her childhood, she also played male-dominated flag football games like her daddy.

During an interview last year, Coco recalled the excitement of scoring in flag football once, by saying, “I would make a crazy play. I would break ankles. I’d go right around them and the crowd would be gagged. One time I did this talent competition and I felt the same energy from the crowd, where they were gagged, and I was like, Whoa! I can make them gag like that off of my voice?” So, this means Coco, like her brothers, Steven and Mikey Jr. Jones, also participated in football in her childhood.

And now, she is back to the football world, but this time, as a performer of the national anthem in the 2024 season opener.
