“Chris has so much personality and people just automatically draw themselves to him.” These words from Chris Oladokun’s mom, Jennifer Carter, demonstrate her intense affection and faith in his skills. The Chiefs quarterback and his mom share a very healthy relationship. It was his mom who continued to push him in shaping his NFL trajectory, even during adverse times. Moreover, his former athletic dad, Henry Oladokun, also provides him with tremendous support. He helped him improve his talents and had a significant impact on him.

And now, with the parent’s support, the young QB, Chris Oladokun is entering his third season with two Super Bowl victories and a career record of 5,740 yards. He also recently gained attention during the Chiefs’ preseason training camp as he discussed his progress and motivation. Thus, his fans are equally invested in knowing about his parents. His journey from Sickles High School to the NFL was quite challenging, and all this would not have happened without his parents’ unflinching support.

Chris Oladokun’s father, Henry Oladokun, is a former basketball player who competed for the Howard Bison men’s basketball team in Washington. Clearly, his father instilled the athleticism and discipline in him that helped build his NFL career. Like his father, Chris also played basketball in school, but life had other plans. Chris’ father has developed ethics of hard work and athleticism in all the kids, including Chris’ younger brother, Jordan, a standout defensive back at Gaither High School, and his younger sister, Kayla.

On the other hand, the Chiefs quarterback’s mother, Jennifer Carter, has also pushed her son to achieve his NFL dreams. Earlier, during his high school days, Chris’s mom disclosed his other sports interests besides football, as he excelled as a three-sport athlete.

“We would run from the football field to the baseball field, and then from baseball to basketball,” Chris Oladokun’s mother remarked. Apart from that, she also highlighted his affection for numerous types of balls from a young age. She also mentioned how, “his entire life, he never played with toys; it was always some type of ball. He never watched cartoons; it was SportsCenter or some type of sport that was on.”

The unbreakable mother-son bond

According to The US Foracle, Oladokun’s mother strongly believes in his determination and persistence. Earlier, when young Chris took over the offense at Alonso High School, while USF was struggling to meet expectations, she adored him.

During an interview, Jennifer revealed about his football enthusiasm. “Getting to learn that offense and hopefully be that person who runs out on the field and takes the field—that’s exciting for him. When he gets in there and it’s his turn, he’s ready; he’s hungry for it,” she mentioned.

Oladokun’s early career truly was challenging, even though he had to deal with some weird situations at his transfer to Sickles High School. His mom came forth to showcase her reliance on him, as young Chris accepted the challenge with an optimistic mindset. “So, when he went to Sickles, that’s (Alonso’s) rival school. At Alonso, they were almost like ‘we’re not speaking to you anymore.’ But Sickles immediately rallied around him because he has that natural ability to lead people,” Carter remarked.

However, it’s not only his mother who has faith in his resilience; Chris also has a deep affection for her. In June 2016, he took to his official Instagram handle to express his love for his mom. Along with sharing an adorable snap with his mama, he gave a lovely caption to his post.

“No one will ever understand the bond my mother and I have. I’m definitely going to miss her love and home-cooked meals in about 20 days. I’m so lucky to have the best and most supportive mom in the world. We will always be inseparable #batmanandrobin.” This showcased his deep love for his mom.
