Alec Ingold's success: Proof that family support trumps genetics in sports?

“Their love, support, and commitment were exactly what I needed,” Alec Ingold once said for his foster parents. These words reflected the gratefulness and sentiments he felt for them. It is especially his mom Chris Ingold that the Miami Dolphins fullback never fails to pay tribute to. In fact, he credits his parents, especially his dad, Pat for his successful NFL career. “My parents did a great job of being extremely transparent. So it was never a secret,” he earlier stated.

Clearly, with his parent’s unwavering support, he continues to add more accolades to his NFL career list. Thus, the fans are equally invested in knowing about his adoptive parents.

The NFL  fullback’s foster dad, Pat Ingold works in the paper and goods industry at Creative Converting as a director of Purchasing in Clintonville, Wisconsin. According to his LinkedIn profile, since 2007, he has been part of the Hoffmaster Group as a director. Apart from his creative purchasing experience, Pat Ingold is also a sports enthusiast just like Alec.

Reportedly, his dad has a remarkable collegiate wrestling career. He served as a wrestler at Northern Michigan University where secured the two-time All-American wrestler title. During his time at NMU (1984 to 1989), he also earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Thus, it is no wonder that his athletic father has motivated him to pursue a sporting career. Alec’s bond with his dad became even more evident in 2020 when he demonstrated his love on Father’s Day. “Happy Father’s Day! The best garage storage installation team in the country,” he mentioned in his post caption.
