Fifteen Hall of Famers against Trump—do you agree with their stance or think they’re out of line?

You don’t see it every day that NFL Hall of Famers join hands outside of football. But this time, they’re making waves in a whole new arena. When football legends step off the gridiron and enter the political spotlight, you know something big is happening. But what could bring together some of the greatest players in history? Well, their latest support for Kamala Harris has gotten people talking!

While the NFL fever is on, the politics fever is also on. And now former NFL players support their favorite US election candidates! And guess what? In this election season, while some NFL players are supporting Donald Trump, 15 Hall of Famers are endorsing Kamala Harris! As per ML Football’s X post, “ 15 Hall of Famers have announced their joint endorsement for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The group includes Emmitt Smith, Calvin Johnson, and Marv Levy.”

Emmitt Smith is the legendary all-time NFL rushing leader and three-time Super Bowl Champion. On the other hand, Calvin Johnson, nicknamed “Megatron” by his fans, is one of the greatest WRs of all time. And Alan Page is one of two defensive players to win the MVP award. The ex-NFLers are cheering on Vice President Kamala Harris for her “vision of Democracy, Freedom, American world leadership, and equal education and equal opportunities for all Americans.”

Well, not only Smith and Johnson but even five-time Pro Bowler Mel Blount, one of the greatest TEs Kellen Winslow, former LB Andre Tippett, and football coach Marv Levy are also rooting for Harris. And that’s not all! The list is incomplete without the former Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson, premier free safety of his era Kenny Houston, and the first Norwegian NFL player Jan Stenerud. Well, wait for the twist!

NFL legends like Robert Brazile aka Dr. Doom, Willie Roaf aka Nasty, former Pats cornerback Mike Haynes, defensive end Elvin Bethea, and offensive tackle Ron Mix are also in Kamala Harris’s corner. Vice President Kamala Harris and politician Tim Walz kicked off Athletes for Harris on Saturday and they brought in some big names, backing them up! While these former players are standing behind Harris, the present NFLers have mixed opinions!

As the presidential election heats up, the NFL community is also putting its shoulders to the wheel. With a mix of endorsements for both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the football world has turned into a tale of two camps. Hall of Famers and representatives from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) stand hands in hand with Harris. And their reason is clear—her ability to make the lives of American better.

The Hall of Famers said, “Given [Vice President Harris’] integrity, values and demonstrated commitment to justice and equality of opportunity, we are confident that as President she will serve the best interests of all Americans.” And Dent even mentioned how HBCUs are the centers of academic excellence. On the flip side, former players like Antonio Brown and Herschel Walker have openly endorsed Donald Trump.

And it is no news that Brown never fails to sing praises of Trump. He once said, “I think Donald Trump is a good businessman and comes from a good family and has been a good president.” And that’s not all! Dolphins owner Stephen Ross appreciated the 45th US President for the business policies he has enacted.

Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor also stood on Trump’s side. He expressed, “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family will ever vote for a Democrat again.” While some players like Trump for his business, Harris is loved for her work for the community. The mixed endorsements paint the NFL gridiron in different colors of opinions. And it is good to see the NFL players talking about politics!

Well, with the NFL season heating up, one more thing is catching fire—US elections. And with players cheering on their favorite political leaders, let’s see where the ball falls! But in this game of elections, one thing is for sure: a lot of touchdowns and interceptions are waiting for Kamala Harris and Donald Trump!
