“And was left with none!” Randi Mahomes gave this reply when a social media user reportedly accused her of saying that Patrick Mahomes’ mother “married a pro athlete … walked into money.” The comment was harsh for momma Mahomes, as in reality, she faced significant financial hardship after her divorce from Patrick Mahomes Sr. in 2006.

Although the reason behind the divorce is still undisclosed, its effect was quite deep for Randi and her family. This divorce compelled her to work for two jobs simultaneously so that she could help her growing children achieve their respective careers. Additionally, besides the financial struggles, Randi underwent another difficulty after her separation from the MLB star. It was to be “honest” with her two sons – Patrick Mahomes and Jackson Mahomes.

Randi Mahomes joined “The Mom Game Podcast,” on June 21, to talk about her early struggle, children, and the champion’s mom life. While recalling the tough phase after her divorce, she talked about the hard work she put in and the support from friends, Patrick, and Brittany. Randi highlighted that they helped out when she worked at night, which made Patrick grow up faster than she wanted. She believed that the experiences and challenges they faced shaped who he is today. In addition to it, Randi has always been honest and upfront with her kids, sharing her mistakes for them to learn from.

When she got divorced, she was straightforward with her children, emphasizing, “I was always very honest with all of my kids. I’m very upfront and I want them to know and I want them to learn even if it’s my mistake….so even when I got a divorce, I was very honest and I sat the kids down and I told them and I’m like you got to be strong and my biggest thing was we had to be at church on Sunday.” Explaining the church scene further, Randi further revealed that there were some times when Patrick and she had disagreements on something, such as spending time together, during Pat’s college days. However, they eventually agreed that if Patrick went to church on Sundays, they wouldn’t argue.

This helped the Mahomes family to stay intact and share a strong bond. However, it’s important to note that despite Randi having friends and family to support them, being a mother, and too, being a single mom is a tough job.

Randi Mahomes admitted the struggle of raising her three children all together!

After the divorce seventeen years ago, Randi Mahomes had to struggle with a lot of problems. So, it is obvious that single mothers are overwhelmed with their responsibilities sometimes. Sharing that struggle, in an interview with People Magazine this year, Randi spoke about raising her daughter, Mia Randall. The youngest step-sister of Mahomes was born in July 2011.

Although Mia’s father’s identity hasn’t been revealed, Randi shared that raising her was extremely difficult. However, during this rough patch, her older son, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, stepped up to help his mother manage the workload and responsibilities.

And up until now, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes always keep a tab on Mia, with Brittany being like her older sister.
