Can Xavier Worthy's faith and talent make him the next big thing for the Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs may have found their gem in this year’s NFL draft in the form of rookie WR Xavier Worthy. Joining the Chiefs as their no.28 overall pick, Worthy is expected to help Patrick Mahomes led offense to a three-peat this season. But looking at the rookie WR’s recent switch from college football to the NFL, we can’t help but ponder upon his pro football journey.

For every player who starts getting attention after joining the NFL, fans are expected to dive into their background.

Although there isn’t any solid evidence regarding Worthy’s religious beliefs, looking at his recent engagement with Tia Jones might give us an idea. As both Jones and her husband Worthy wore white on their special day, it looked like the rookie WR followed the Christian way of marriage. Worthy went down on one knee while proposing to his track and field star girlfriend, Tia. Xavier had an emerald-cut diamond-studded ring ready to gift her.

As Jones said, ‘Yes,’ the pair kick-started a new chapter in their lives, while Worthy is slated to begin his journey in the NFL within a few days. By looking at the video they shared from their marriage ceremony that had the caption, “The Worthy’s,” you could probably guess that Xavier is a follower of Christianity.

But how about his ethnicity? Is Worthy American, or does he belong to some other nation? Let’s find out!

What is the rookie WR’s ethnicity?

Xavier Worthy, an African-American, was born and brought up in Fresno, California, with two other younger sisters, Ree and Onie. He completed his primaries at Central East High School in Fresno while helping his school win their first CIF Division 1-AA state championship back in 2019. Worthy is famously known for his speed while holding the record for the fasted 40-yard dash within 4.21 seconds during the 2014 NFL scouting combine.

Have an interesting take?

However, his capabilities as a runner were evident from the beginning when “he earned a personal record with a 10.55 100-meter dash as a sophomore” at Central East. With a childhood going back to California, Worthy can be called a proud American. And, with the new season coming up in a few days, he can be seen playing at the highest level of American football.

But the question is, will Xavier Worthy live up to the expectation that got the Chiefs interested? Or does the rookie WR take his time to settle down in the NFL.
