Reflecting on this whopping amount, Collins mentioned, “I feel like for me it was never about the money. I just love the game of football. So getting money, it’s a good thing. I ain’t saying no to no bread now. but it’s really just a blessing. I just love the game of football. I love what comes with it, man. I love working on my game and I love winning.”

Now with this new deal, Collins’ annual average salary is around $17.33 million, making him one of the higher-earning wide receivers in the league. Hold on, there are also performance-based incentives, like bonuses for Pro Bowl selections and production milestones like 95 receptions or 1,460 receiving yards in a season.

The Texans have offered an extension to the wide receiver till the 2027 season. This extension was done just before the 2024 season. It added 3 years to his existing rookie deal. By the looks of it, Texans are quite serious about keeping this guy for the future.

They’re not wrong though. For the 2023 season, Collins ended with 1,297 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, earning him his first Pro Bowl selection. Looking at recent games, even after missing some due to injury, he was the standout performer. In Week 17, Collins had a standout game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He caught seven passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.
