The starting point of his thesis on the “politics of intimacy” was categorized as being excessively broad. When Lurie was asked during a 2017 interview, “Are we organizing societies to maximize people’s fulfillment of the need for intimacy?,” he answered, “we are living in a patriarchal system.” And, even though he was a 60-year-old male, who had all the privileges of being a white, male figure earning extravagantly, he opted to question the system.

Moreover, before Lurie entered the business realm, he was also an adjunct assistant professor at Boston University teaching social policy. With such a diverse profile, Lurie’s accomplishments are indeed quite promising, as he continues to cover diverse milestones.
