It’s pretty cool to see a college football player’s journey to the NFL. Facing plenty of competition in the college circuit and then moving ahead to the ultimate league. And one such player, among many others, is Eagles’ wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
Dotson started his journey at Penn State Nittany Lions. After making it to the NFL, he’s shown a lot of improvement, especially after joining the Eagles. It’s interesting to see how a player creates wealth throughout this journey. But, looking at Dotson’s numbers, it’s a mixed bag of highs and lows.
What is Dotson’s net worth?

It is tough to quote an exact number, as there is no official disclosure of Dotson’s net worth. So, considering his Eagles’ salary, the number could be somewhere aroud $10 million to $15 million. This number places him just above the lower-earning wide receivers. An average lower-earning wide receiver has a net worth of $5 million to $10 million. So comparing his net worth to top earners like Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill is not fair. In this category of players, the average net worth can go north of $30 million.
Usually, players boost their net worth through brand endorsements. The same can’t be said about Dotson, as there isn’t any publicly available information on his endorsements. But as his career moves ahead, surely he’ll have brands partnering with him, till then he can enjoy his team salary.
What is Eagles wide receiver’s salary?
For the current 2025 season, Dotson’s base salary stands at $2,757,048. Previously, in the 2024 season, he had a base salary of $1,573,082. Throughout his professional journey, Dotson’s overall earnings from contracts have accumulated to $12,291,358. Apart from the Eagles, his rookie contract was with the Washington Commanders from 2022 to 2023. It was valued at $15,048,358, which included a signing bonus of $8,124,260.
For many fans, this doesn’t look much, and it’s true. If you compare this to his counterparts, it’s still quite low. Considering him in the lower earner category, players like Adam Thielen or Curtis Samuel are earning more than $8,000,000 per year. Looking at these numbers, there is a possibility that he doesn’t have any managers yet. Also, these earnings are based on performances. For the 2023 season, Dotson played all 17 games and had 49 receptions, totaling 518 receiving yards. These aren’t elite numbers, but they’re decent for a newbie. And he improvised in the current season, with better numbers: 60 receptions with 750 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.

How long is Dotson’s contract?
Dotson was traded to the Eagles from Washington, in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick and two seventh-round picks. He had signed a rookie deal with the Washington Commanders in 2022. It was a 4-year rookie deal with a fifth-year option. He was then traded to the Eagles, where his contract remains the same as his rookie deal. Philadelphia has the option to extend his contract for an extra year. If they don’t extend it, he’ll be a free agent in 2027. With his improved performance, we might see a negotiation in the future. But before that, we need to see how the wide receiver fares in the divisional round.

We’ll see Dotson in action against the Los Angeles Rams. Even though the recent face-offs were met with equal strengths, the Eagles have the upper hand with 21-18-1. That being said, it’ll be an interesting one with Jalen Hurts trying to establish himself post his injury.
