2022 was the year when everything started to change in Geno Smith’s NFL career. After spending less than a decade as a journeyman around the league, Seattle saw their future in Geno Smith. Remember when the Seahawks decided to trade their nine-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson to the Broncos? Yeah, that’s when Smith got the opportunity to finally put his stamp on the league.
And boy, he didn’t just repay the fate shown in him by the Seahawks’ management. That decision to hand over the keys of the Seahawks’ offense to Smith worked wonders. The Seahawks didn’t just qualify for the playoffs. Smith also won his first Pro Bowl after nine years in the league. Well, that resurgence also led to him winning the Comeback Player of the Year. And take home a contract that he may not have ever dreamt of in the NFL.

What is Geno Smith’s salary?
2023 was probably the year of QBs securing bags full of cash. Trevor Lawrence and Jordan Love took home $55M average annual salary contract extensions. Elsewhere, Tua Tagovailoa and Jared Goff were rewarded with $53M on average per year. You might be wondering where Smith’s three-year deal with the Seahawks ranks. Well, for that, you need to wait a bit. Now, Atlanta and Tampa Bay also gave their QBs Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield over $30M per year deals. However, the Seahawks’ $75M deal with Geno Smith will only see him earn $25M per year.

Are there any positives to the contract that Seattle gifted Geno Smith with? If you think that way, then Smith has a $40M guaranteed cash on his contract. So whatever happens until 2025, Smith will take home $40M from Seattle. Who knows, maybe the Seahawks will restructure Geno’s contract to make it a little bit more lucrative like other QBs in the league. However, you know what he needs to do for that. He must help the Seahawks reach the playoffs, which is the bare minimum for him to earn what he deserves.
What is Geno Smith’s net worth?
See, judging by the contract he signed with the Seahawks. It’s difficult to predict Geno Smith’s actual net worth. But it could be around $10M if his contractual earnings are factored in. Well, Smith isn’t someone who likes to make his investments public. So, there’s almost nothing about his possible endorsements or partnerships. What he has is the $75M contract he signed in 2023. To be honest, his numbers were way better than what the Seahawks rewarded him with.

What Smith managed to achieve with the Seahawks in a single season, starting under center, was simply astonishing. He completed 399 of his 572 passes with a 69.8% pass completion rate. Well, that’s not the only thing that shows what Smith is really capable of. The former Jets QB had a 100.9 passer rating throughout the regular season. Now, you could be wondering how that is even possible for someone who, prior to joining the Seahawks, was only a backup everywhere.
Here’s your answer: Smith racked up 4,282 passing yards and 30TDs. And he wasn’t finished there. Smith also rushed for 366 yards while scoring a single rushing TD in 2022. But as things stand, Smith needs to produce those numbers yet again if he wants to earn something closer to other NFL QBs.
